World s Largest Smart Bike-Share Platform Rides into Charlotte for the Holidays Bikes to be placed in key downtown locations following the city s approval CHARLOTTE, NC, Dec 21, 2017 Mobike, the world s first and largest smart-bikeshare platform is soft launching in Charlotte this week just in time for the holidays. A limited number of bikes will be placed in key downtown locations as early as Friday, and Mobike hopes to grow the fleet in coordination with city officials. Charlotte is Mobike s second city in the United States, joining more than 200 Mobike cities in twelve countries around the world. Using custom designed bikes equipped with GPS and proprietary smart-lock technology, Mobike enables users of its smartphone app to find a bike near them, reserve and unlock it, all using their smartphones.
