FDOT Broward County Traffic Report April 20 through April 27, 2018 FORT LAUDERDALE -- Construction and maintenance-related lane closures on state highways in Broward County are expected during the week of April 20 through April 27, 2018. South of Broward Boulevard to north of Commercial Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale Three northbound lanes of I-95 will be closed Sunday through Thursday night between 10:30 p.m. and 5 a.m. The first lane will close at 10:30 p.m., the second lane at 11:30 p.m. and the third lane at 12:30 a.m. until 5 a.m. All lanes will be open by 5:30 a.m. Three southbound lanes of I-95 will be closed Sunday through Thursday night between 10:30 p.m. and 5 a.m. The first lane will close at 10:30 p.m., the second lane at 11:30 p.m. and the third lane at 12:30 a.m. until 5 a.m. All lanes will be open by 5:30 a.m. I-95 in both directions, from south of Davie Boulevard to north of Commercial Boulevard, will have intermittent shoulder and ramp shoulder closures, as needed, daily and nightly. The I-95 northbound entrance ramp from Oakland Park Boulevard will undergo a full nightly closure, 11:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. Traffic will be detoured via Commercial Boulevard and Powerline Road. FHP will be on site to assist motorists. The I-95 northbound exit ramps to Oakland Park Boulevard will undergo a full nightly closure, 11:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. Traffic will be detoured via Commercial Boulevard. The I-95 southbound exit ramp to Sunrise Boulevard will be closed, as needed, 11:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. Traffic will be detoured via Broward Boulevard and I-95. FHP will be on site to assist motorists. The I-95 southbound entrance ramps from Sunrise Boulevard will be closed, as needed, 11:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. Traffic will be detoured via Powerline Road, Oakland Park Boulevard and I-95. FHP will be on site to assist motorists. The I-95 northbound exit ramp to Commercial Boulevard will have one left lane closed, daily, 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., Monday through Friday, beginning Monday, April 16, through April. The I-95 southbound exit ramp to Broward Boulevard will be closed, 11:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday night, through May 31. Traffic will be detoured via SR 84/Marina Mile and Broward Boulevard. FHP will be on site to assist motorists. 2. I-95 from north of Commercial Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale to south of SW 10 th Street in Deerfield Beach Three northbound lanes of I-95 between Commercial Boulevard and SW 10 th Street will be closed Sunday through Thursday night between 10:30 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. The first lane will close at 10:30 p.m., the second lane at 11:30 p.m. and the third lane at 12:30 a.m. until 5:30 a.m. Three southbound lanes of I-95 between SW 10 th Street and Commercial Boulevard will be closed Sunday through Thursday night between 10:30 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. The first lane will close at 10:30 p.m., the second lane at 11:30 p.m. and the third lane at 12:30 a.m. until 5:30 a.m. One lane in each direction of Atlantic Boulevard from Andrews Avenue to N. Dixie Highway will be closed daily, 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. One lane in each direction of Copans Road between North Andrews Avenue and North Dixie Highway will be closed daily, 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. McNab Road at I-95 will have two lanes closed in each direction, Sunday through Thursday night between 10:30 p.m. and 5 a.m. The I-95 southbound entrance ramp from Andrews Avenue will be closed nightly, 10 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday night through Thursday. Traffic will be detoured via Commercial Boulevard. FHP will be on site to assist motorists. McNab Road at I-95 will undergo a full closure for bridge construction, 11 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. Eastbound traffic will be detoured via N. Andrews Avenue, Cypress Creek Road and S. Dixie Highway. Westbound traffic will be detoured via S. Dixie Highway, Cypress Creek Road, and N. Andrews Avenue. FHP will be on site to assist motorists. Sample Road at I-95 will undergo a full closure for bridge construction, 11 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. Eastbound Sample Road traffic will be detoured via I-95 and Copans Road. Westbound Sample Road traffic will be detoured via I-95 and SW 10 th Street. FHP will be on site to assist motorists.

Atlantic Boulevard at I-95 will undergo a full closure for bridge construction, 11 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. Eastbound Atlantic Boulevard traffic will be detoured via I-95 southbound and Cypress Creek Road. Westbound Atlantic Boulevard traffic will be detoured via I-95 northbound and Copans Road. FHP will be on site to assist motorists. Advanced Full Closure Notice: I-95 southbound at the Cypress Creek Interchange will undergo a full closure for toll gantry installation, 11:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., Wednesday night, April 25. Traffic will be detoured via N. Andrews Avenue and Commercial Boulevard. FHP will be on site to assist motorists. Long-term Full Closure Notice: The Park & Ride entrance from the eastbound exit ramp to Cypress Creek Road is closed completely, reopening 5 a.m., Friday morning, May 11. Traffic will be detoured east along Cypress Creek Road to a U-Turn at NE 7 th Ave/Corporate Drive, and then west along Cypress Creek Road to the Park and Ride. Long-term Full Closure Notice: The I-95 southbound entrance ramp from the Cypress Creek Park & Ride Lot is closed completely, reopening 5 a.m., Thursday morning, May 31. Traffic will be detoured via West Cypress Creek Road or North Andrews Avenue and I-95. FHP will on site to assist motorists. 3. I-95 from south of SW 10 th Street to south of Glades Road in Deerfield Beach and Boca Raton Restrictions: No restrictions. 4. I-95 Interchange from Hillsboro Boulevard to SW 10 th Street Restrictions: The outside lanes of I-95 southbound, between Hillsboro Boulevard and SW 10 th Street, will be closed, nightly, with the first lane closing at 9 p.m., the second lane closing 10 p.m. and the third lane, if needed, closing 12:30 a.m., until 5 a.m., Sunday night through Friday morning, through May. Two lanes of westbound SW 10 th Street will be closed, nightly, 9 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday night through Friday morning, through May. The north sidewalk on SW 10 th Street, between SW 12 th Avenue and SW Natura Boulevard, is closed completely through May 2018 for construction activities. Pedestrians will be detoured to the south sidewalk; signage is in place to assist. Ramp Impacts: The I-95 southbound exit ramp to SW 10 th Street will undergo a full closure, nightly, as needed, 9 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday night through Friday morning. Segments A & B - I-75 from NW 170 to South of Miramar Parkway Two lanes in each direction of I-75 from Miami Gardens Drive to NW 170 Street will be closed nightly Sunday, April 22 through Thursday, April 26. The northbound lane will be closed from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., and the southbound lane will be closed from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Two southbound lanes of I-75 from Florida s Turnpike to Miami Gardens Drive will be closed nightly Sunday, April 22 through Thursday, April 26 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Two lanes in each direction of I-75 from Miramar Parkway to Florida s Turnpike will be closed nightly Sunday, April 22 through Thursday, April 26. The northbound lanes will be closed from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., and the southbound lanes will from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Two northbound lanes of I-75 from NW 170 Street to Miami Gardens Drive will be closed nightly Sunday, April 22 through Thursday, April 26 from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. One lane in each direction of Florida s Turnpike from Red Road to the I-75 Interchange will be closed nightly Sunday, April 22 through Thursday, April 26 from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. One lane in each direction of Florida s Turnpike from I-75 Interchange to Okeechobee Road will be closed nightly Sunday, April 22 through Thursday, April 26 from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. One northbound ramp lane of Florida s Turnpike from Okeechobee Road to I-75 Interchange will be closed nightly Sunday, April 22 through Thursday, April 26 from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. One southbound ramp lane of I-75 from Snake Creek Canal to Florida s Turnpike will be closed nightly Sunday, April 22 through Thursday, April 26 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. One lane in each direction of I-75 from NW 170 Street to Florida s Turnpike will be closed daily Sunday, April 22 through Thursday, April 26 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. One northbound ramp lane of I-75 from Florida s Turnpike will be closed Saturday, April 21, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. 6. Segment C - I-75 from South of Miramar Parkway to South of Sheridan Street in Broward County All lanes are open. 7. Segment D - I-75 from South of Sheridan Street to North of Griffin Road One eastbound and one westbound lane of Sheridan Street may be closed Sunday, April 22 through Thursday, April 26 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. as the contractor continues to work in this area. Two eastbound or two westbound lanes of Sheridan Street may be closed Sunday, April 22 through Thursday, April 26 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. as the contractor continues to work in this area. 8. Segment E - I-75 from North of Griffin Road to I-595 in Broward County All lanes are open. I-595 Both lanes on Westbound State Road 84 on Ramp to Northbound Turnpike will be closed not simultaneously from 10:00pm to 5:00am on Monday, April 23rd, 2018 and Tuesday, April 24 th, 2018 for GPR Testing. One of Two lanes on Southbound Turnpike State Road 91 to 595 Westbound/ Eastbound Ramps will be closed from 9:00am to 3:00pm on Sunday, April 22, 2018 for Bridge 860559 Inspection.

Northeast Broward 9. A1A Improvements Project from Oakland Park Boulevard to Flamingo Avenue in Fort Lauderdale One lane in each direction of A1A from Oakland Park Boulevard to Flamingo Avenue may be intermittently closed Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. for miscellaneous construction activities. Description: Project improvements include removing old asphalt and resurfacing the roadway within the project limits, upgrading sidewalks and ramps to meet ADA requirements, repairing, adjusting, and replacing drainage structures throughout the project limits, upgrading the following existing intersections to mast arm signals: 34th Street, mid-block between 36th and 40th Street, and at 40th Street, upgrading all existing pedestrian signals to countdown timers, upgrading signs and pavement markings throughout the project limits, including adding a 1.5 foot striped buffer to separate the four-foot wide bike lanes from the outside vehicle travel lane, upgrading existing lighting along the corridor to lighting with a variable intensity function that can be accessed remotely in order to cause minimal disruption to sea turtles during their nesting season, adding elevated roadway lighting and lower level lighting to illuminate the sidewalk, and adding a business access drive aisle along the east side of road between NE 34th and NE 36th Street. Broward Boulevard Improvements and Bridge Replacement Project in Fort Lauderdale Up to two lanes in each direction of Broward Boulevard from US 1 to NW 18 Avenue (500 feet maximum at a time) will be closed between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. and Saturdays between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. for drainage improvements, widening, curb and gutter installation, and sidewalk construction. Portions of the sidewalk on either side of the road from NW 18 Avenue to US 1 are closed for construction. Signs are in place to direct pedestrians to the open sidewalk on the opposite side of the road. Description: Project improvements include replacing the bridge over the North Fork of the New River, removing old asphalt and resurfacing the roadway, upgrading crosswalk ramps to meet ADA requirements, upgrading signs and pavement markings, relocating bus shelters, adding roadway lighting, installing drainage structures, upgrading signalized intersections to mast arms, reconstructing sidewalks, and widening roadway to add bike lanes in each direction. Hillsboro Boulevard Improvements Project from Military Trail to US 1 in Deerfield Beach

One lane in each direction of Hillsboro Boulevard from Military Trail to US 1 may be closed for signalization improvements, paving, striping, and miscellaneous construction activities through May. Up to two lanes in each direction of Hillsboro Boulevard from Military Trail to US 1 will be closed nightly between 7:30 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. through May for milling and resurfacing. Description: Project improvements include improving the off-ramp from northbound I-95 to eastbound Hillsboro Boulevard including adding a new signalized intersection and adding second lane to increase capacity, relocating and upgrading drainage structures, upgrading crosswalk ramps to meet ADA requirements, constructing new stamped asphalt crosswalks from east of Natura Boulevard to US 1, upgrading existing pedestrian signals to countdown timers, upgrading signalized intersections to mast arms, installing new decorative lighting, constructing new medians east of SE 2 Avenue, removing old asphalt and resurfacing the roadway, upgrading signs and pavement markings to reflect the new roadway configuration as follows: (1) Military Trail to Dixie Highway - Three 11-foot lanes in each direction (2) NE / SE 2 Avenue to US 1 - Two 11-foot lanes in each direction, and adding a bike lane or sharrows in each direction as follows: (1) Military Trail to NW/SW 2 Terrace - 4-foot bike lane (2) NW / SW 2 Terrace to NE / SE 2 Avenue - Sharrow symbols to designate that the outside travel lane will be shared with vehicles (3) NE / SE 2 Avenue to US 1-7-foot bike lane. Broward Mobility Project One lane on each direction of NW 31 Avenue from Sunrise Boulevard to Oakland Park Boulevard will be closed Monday through Thursday evenings between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. for milling and resurfacing. One lane in each direction of SW 4 Avenue from SW 28 Street to SR 84 will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. for roadway widening and median reconstruction. Description: The improvements under this contract include constructing sidewalks, multi-use pedestrian paths, and bicycle lanes along 45 roadways in Broward County within Hollywood, Pembroke Pines, Davie, Plantation, Deerfield Beach, Pompano Beach, Lauderhill, Oakland Park, Lauderdale Lakes, and Fort Lauderdale. Old Dixie Highway Improvements Project from NE 13 th Street to the south end of the Middle River Bridge in Fort Lauderdale All lanes open through Friday, April 27. Description: The improvements under this contract include reducing the width of the travel lanes and modifying shoulders to add 4-foot bike lanes in both directions, constructing sidewalk, drainage improvements, adding roundabout at NE 16th Court, permanently reducing speed limit to 25 MPH, installation of pedestrian lighting, adding landscaping and swales to improve drainage, removing old asphalt and resurfacing the roadway, constructing 8 raised intersections

Cost/Completion: $2.6 million / Early 2018 14. SW 4 Avenue at SW 28 Street Intersection Improvements Project in Fort Lauderdale This project was completed Friday, April 13.
