We have ensured that we have upcycled and reused all of the materials we have used so far, keeping in line with the over-arching theme of sustainability. The students are very excited to wear there costumes and I really encourage everyone who can come along, to do so. I have attached a form at the back of this newsletter and we would really appreciate it if you could let us know if you will be attending the Parade on High Street Yackandandah at 6:30pm Friday 23rd March. We will meet the students at the swimming pool end of High Street from 6pm. Face Painting will be available for participants from 5pm, if the students would like this. Cow Poo Lotto-Pre Ticket Sales The Easter Market is well and truly upon us and we would like to sell some of our cow poo lotto tickets prior to the event as this is a major fundraiser for us, this takes less pressure off on the Market Day to sell all 100 tickets. We are hoping to do this in two ways 1. We will be selling tickets in Yackandandah and Beechworth next weekend and 2. If you would like to take a book of 5 tickets to sell personally. If you could please indicate on the form attached to this newsletter whether or not you will be able to help, we would greatly appreciate it. I am very mindful that we have a small parent community and that we seem to be requesting your help quite a lot at the moment, but we really do understand and we really, really value and appreciate everything that you do for our school. Book Club The latest scholastic catalogue went out this week and is due back to school on the 15th March. Please see Shireen if you have any questions regarding this. Easter Market Timetable You will also notice on the timetable attached that we would like to start working out availability s for helpers for our Easter Market Stalls. We will do our best to fit in with when/how you can help as we know you are giving up your Easter Weekend to do so. Please fill this out with your preferences and I hope to send out a draft timetable with next week s newsletter that we can continue to work on and tweak before the end of term. Solar Panels and Website Design I am wondering if anyone in our school community has any contacts in regards to getting solar panels for the school or someone who does website design. I am looking to get some comparable quotes, but thought I would see if there was anyone who came recommended. If you do have anyone to put forward, can you please come and see me. Wizard of Oz Tuesday 24th July we are having our annual community trip to Melbourne to watch a musical. At this stage we have two coaches booked, meaning 112 people can come along. We open this up to families, friends and community members. Tickets will be $100 per person and this includes the bus to and from Melbourne and the show, The Wizard of Oz at the Regent Theatre. If you can start to consider if you would like to come along and who would like to come along with you, this will help with planning. All money for tickets will need to be paid by Wednesday 6th June 2018. Have a lovely weekend, Alicia Odewahn -Principal 1011 Beechworth Wodonga Road Wooragee VIC 3747 ph: 03 5728 7255 e: wooragee.ps@edumail.vic.gov.au w: http://www.woorageeps.vic.edu.au/

Wooragee primary school Student News Sasha: On Tuesday we went fossicking with Shari for crystals in the creek reserve. I found a black stone with white streaks through it. Cooper: On Tuesday Shari took us crystal hunting and I found two different crystals that looked really cool. Then we went over the creek and looked for more. Ollie: I found one crystal that looked really cool. Then I found two more. We kept moving to different place to look for them. Nadia: On Tuesday we went down into the creek area and looked for crystals. Georgia and I had one tool and we were looking in a pile of rocks. I found a weird shape rock and looked at it closely and saw some crystals in it. I also found a rock with sparkles in it and two small red ones.

Abbie: Last Friday we did clean up Australia day. We cleaned from one entry to the other in front of the school. We didn't get a lot of rubbish which shows we keep it clean most of the time. We found some broken glass so the teachers picked it up while wearing special gloves. Someone found an old rubbish bin lid and we also found dirty cigarette butts. Cooper: On Tuesday, Logan and I went looking for crystals down in the bush reserve. Logan: Tuesday I was picking up rocks looking for crystals. I found three growing crystal. Enjoying Art
