Due to their nature, the following special trophy winners will not be announced until the end of the awards dinner. (Please fill in their names after the announcements are made) Renegade Trophy The Renegade Trophy is awarded annually to an outstanding crew member of a LHYC yacht. The award is intended to encourage crewing by acknowledging the contribution of crew members in yacht racing. The winner is decided by the Flag Officers and Directors based on nomination letters presented to them by LHYC skippers. Criteria for nomination are: 1- Outstanding crew member loyalty and contribution for a season (the crew member must have sailed in 50% of all LHYC races held that year), 2- Outstanding crew member loyalty and contribution over several years, 3- One individual event, so extraordinary, that it deserves recognition. Eric Francois Skylark Award In honor of those members who have most exhibited, over time, an unfailing willingness to give their energies and expertise for the good of the Lloyd Harbor Yacht Club. Lorenzo Vascotto A special thanks to our 2006 premiere sponsors: Celebrating 40 years.. Fleet Captain s Message The Lloyd Harbor Yacht Club, its members, friends and local competitors have enjoyed a great season of racing and sailing in the Huntington area this past year. With over 30 races run by our club it has been a busy season filled with great competition, great camaraderie and most importantly GREAT FUN! It takes an enormous amount of work on the part of the LHYC board to plan, prepare and execute a successful racing calendar, so I would like to take this time to thank all of them for their time and effort and most importantly their commitment to the sport of sailboat racing. I must also acknowledge the efforts of those members that volunteer to run Race Committee for each of our events. We would not be racing without them. To pass up the opportunity to race in order to allow others to compete is a truly honorable way to help the sport and the club. They not only make my job easier, they make me proud to be a member of the LHYC. It has been an extremely rewarding experience and a real pleasure to serve as Fleet Captain this past year and to be affiliated with such an active and successful program. The level of interest and support shown by the members and the community has been extraordinary. I would like to thank all the competitors who have contributed greatly to the successful racing program we all enjoy. Finally, congratulations to all of the winners of the 2006 season and best wishes for continued success in the seasons to follow. Joseph Scarpulla Lloyd Harbor Yacht Club Fleet Captain
