Chairpersons Notes: New Year, New Beginnings Happy New Year to you all! The 2014 season kicked off on Friday 17 th January in the Greyfriars with our club registra on night. We had a room full of Barnabas men and women, of the big and small ball codes, wai ng to hear from this year s management teams. It was great to see some new faces mixed among the more familiar ones, all eager to don the maroon and white jersey this year. The general consensus was one of high spirits and excitement for what the season ahead holds. The management teams set out their targets and subsequently threw down the gauntlet to each squad. Only me will tell if the challenges have been accepted by each team, however, going by the a endance at the ladies and gents first training sessions during the following week, it looks like the challenges have been accepted. I would like to extend a warm welcome to all new players to the club and wish each team and their management the very best of luck for the season ahead. Off the field, we will have our first social gathering with the annual table quiz coming up very soon. This year s quiz is set to have a few twists (your guess is as good as mine?) so keep an eye out on Facebook and the website for more details! On behalf of everyone on the commi ee I would like to wish everyone in the club and the community around No ngham a very happy and prosperous 2014. Bliain nua faoi mhaise daoibh ar fad! Nicola Lynch Chairperson, St.Barnabas GAC 2
