s Minimum s NFPA 1500 calls fr the establishment f an annual prficiency evaluatin fr all members f the department. These prficiencies are t be determined and established by each jurisdictin and are specific t each jb psitin within the department. Once established, each member will be respnsible fr maintaining these skill levels. Annual evaluatins will be cnducted t validate the ability t perfrm these skills. These evaluatins are designed t validate cmpetency in basic skill levels as well as identify pprtunities fr training at bth the individual and cmpany level. The minimum cmpany standards will be divided int tw categries: and Skills. skills will fcus n single persn skill levels that are essential functins f the jb. Skills will center n the entire cmpanies ability t perfrm a specific set r series f tasks highlighting the rle f each member f the cmpany. The firefighter will prepare SCBA fr dnning frm the grund psitin by lying ut all straps. Firefighter will dn SCBA using verhead r cat methd cmpleting all steps necessary fr task. All safety checks will be perfrmed and full PPE will be utilized. Evlutin will be cmpleted in 60 secnds r less. s MINIMUM COMPANY STANDARD () The firefighter will carry, psitin and thrw a fire service grund ladder t a designated building t a specified height, apprximately 50 frm the apparatus. The firefighter will select the ladder apprpriate fr the task which will be t ladder a 2nd flr windw fr a rescue using either a 14 rf ladder r a 24 extensin ladder (r ther ladder as determined by a/h/j). Firefighter will remve the ladder frm assigned apparatus, use a shulder r straight-arm carry, and transprt the ladder t the building. The heel f the ladder will be psitined against the building and the ladder will be rtated t a flat psitin with the fly sectin (if extensin ladder utilized), psitined accrding t a/h/j. Ladder will be walked hand ver hand until resting against building. If extensin f ladder is needed, it will be dne at this time and heel f ladder will be pulled away frm the structure t the prper climbing angle. If used, the halyard will be tied ff and the ladder angle will be tested fr prper climbing psitin.
