SECRETARY S REPORT It has been another busy year for the Aranmore Jets Netball Club and once again I would like to thank the entire committee for their support and assistance throughout the season, we are a great team!! This year we applied to Healthway/Sports Medicine Australia for Healthy Club Sponsorship. This is available to all incorporated clubs in Western Australia. Aranmore Jets was successful in its application and was granted a total of $1850 sponsorship. This was used to purchase all the first aid equipment in the team kit bags, umpiring courses and injury prevention courses. Some interesting facts for you from this season: We have the following members: o 57 open members o 71 Junior members o 3 non-playing members o 131 members in total We fielded the following teams: o 6 Open teams o 5 Under 17 teams o 3 Year 8 teams A total of 188 regular season and 16 finals, including 3 grand final, games were played by Aranmore Jets teams. Congratulations to all players for a great season, I know I had a great time playing and watching the games I managed to see through the season. Thanks for all the support from players, parents, family, friends and our generous sponsors for making this season another great success for our club. Lets hope there are many more to come. UMPIRING REPORT As with most things I do, I seem to jump first and think later. This year has been a learning curb for me with all the ups and downs of putting together umpires for our fantastic Aranmore Jets Teams. I caught myself saying on a quite a few occasions I thought I had or was it I definitely did when asked if I had organised the umpires. To all those umpires who showed up every week and then covered for others when there suddenly wasn t one, I thank you so much. And apologies to some for the early wake up calls. Through the efforts of our umpires the Aranmore Jets Netball Club has grown into a wonderful club showing the true meaning of sportsmanship and kinship. Even though, on a few occasions some mothers were warned by daughters to keep quiet on the court. The ability of our umpires was obviously noted again and like last year several again were asked to umpire throughout the final series and for the Grand Final. I thank all of the umpires, along with those who helped out in times of need, for making my job that much easier to fulfil. Congratulations to all teams, coaches, managers, committee and umpires for a fantastic year for Aranmore Jets Netball Club, and to all those others that help out behind the scene without being asked. Heres to Aranmore Jets Netball Club being a force to be reckoned with in 2009! Annette Larkin Umpire Coordinator - 5 -
