Little American Royal General Show Rules 1. This is a junior show conducted by the Platte Valley FFA Chapter. 2. Only FFA, 4H members, and Breed Association members in good standing can exhibit in the Little American Royal. Exhibitors under 8 years of age must have proof of breed association membership. 3. Pee Wee Showmanship is for youth 4 to 8 years old only. 4. All animals must be owned and shown by the exhibitor, with the exception of Pee Wee Showmanship and where an exhibitor has two or more animals in the same class. 5. Horses will not be ridden in the field house. 6. All prospect beef, goats, sheep and swine will be classified by weight. There will be no re-weighs. 7. All contestants who qualify for the All Around Showmanship Contest are required to be present, with the animal that they qualified with first, in the field house at 5:30 p.m. onmay 6, 2017. If the qualified winner is unable to participate in the contest, you must notify the show officials before the end of that species show. 8. Ribbons will be awarded through 5th place in each class. 9. The Platte Valley School District RE-7 will not be held responsible for any injury, accidents, or damage to personal property, people or animals that might occur during the show. 10. Bedding will be furnished; no personal bedding will be allowed on the show grounds. Additional bedding will be available for sale. 11. Animals and exhibitors will be released after they are done competing in their respective classes. 13. The Platte Valley FFA and their agents reserve the right to refuse entry to and remove from the grounds, any animal who exhibits any deviation from a normal state of health, ethical fitting and uncontrollable animals. This includes fungus infestations on any livestock. 14. ENTRY FEES WILL NOT BE REFUNDED. 15. There are NO wash facilities available. 16. The show order for all livestock shows will follow the class number in the catalog. 17. Any animal weighing over the species maximum will be classified as Market and placed into a separate division that will show after the Prospect Show. Little American Royal (Blow & Go) Beef Show Rules Breeding Beef Division: 1. Entries close at 10:30 a.m. on May 6, 2017, judging will begin at 11:00 am. 2. All Classes will be (Blow & Go), no adhesives will be allowed. 3. Heifers can be shown in both Breeding and Prospect shows. 4. Heifers must be eligible for registry in their respective breed associations. 5. Prospect Beef Show Ring 1 1. Weigh-in will be held from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. on May 6, 2017. 2. Judging will begin after the showmanship contest. 3. Prospect Beef will be placed into classes according to weight. 4. There will be a class for Prospect Heifers; they can be shown in both Breeding and Prospect classes. 111 Prospect Steers 112 Prospect Market Heifers 113 Grand and Reserve Grand Champion Prospect Beef Animal (Both Steers and Heifers) ** The Grand and Reserve Grand Champion Prospect Beef Animal will receive belt buckles. Division Champions will each receive a trophy award. Breeding Heifer/Prospect Beef Show Ring 2 Entry Fee:$10.00/ $25.00 per head Beef Show Second Ring will follow the same class order for Breeding Heifers and Prospect Beef Animals. 1.Weigh-in will be held from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. on May 6, 2017, one weigh-in for both rings. 2.Animals must show in ring 1 to be eligible to show in ring 2. Ring 2 will follow 1-2 classes behind ring 1. 3.There will be NO Showmanship classes shown in ring 2. Ring 2 Breeding entries fee is $10.00 per animal. Little American Royal Horse Show Rules Halter & Performance Divisions Entry Fee: $10.00 per Event 1. The Horse Show will begin at 9:00 a.m. May 6, 2017. 2. Rules include those from the 2016 4-H rule book. 3. Stallions are not allowed to show. 4. The Platte Valley FFA is not responsible for any accidents to the horse, owner or spectator 5. Contestants may only enter one horse per class in performance and showmanship. 6. Time allowed for tack changes is at the discretion of the judge or committee. 7. Late contestants names will be called 3 times. The third call will be issued just before the closing of the gate. The class will then be considered complete. 8. If there are less than three entries in a halter class, the classes will be combined. 9. No ropes or lariats will be used on the show grounds. 10. High point classes include classes 7-22. Showmanship placing will be used to break a tie. High point awards will only be given in Junior and Senior Divisions 11. Exhibitors may enter in the proper age division and Novice, but no trophies will be given in the Novice division. 12. The age breaks for classes other than showmanship are as follows: Senior - 14 years old and up as of Jan. 1. Junior - 8 through 13 years of age as of Jan. 1. Novice - beginner showman. 1 Junior Mares 3 years of age and younger 2 Senior Mares 4 years of age and older 3 Champion and Reserve Champion Mare 4 Junior Geldings 3 years of age and younger 5 Senior Geldings 4 years of age and older 6 Champion and Reserve Champion Gelding 7-10 Showmanship Classes (see below) 11 Senior Western Pleasure 12 Junior Western Pleasure 13 Novice Western Pleasure 14 Senior Western Horsemanship 15 Junior Western Horsemanship 16 Novice Western Horsemanship 17 Senior Reining 18 Junior Reining 19 Novice Reining 20 Open Trail 21 Open English Pleasure 22 Open English Equitation ** Champion and Reserve Champion in classes 3, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 will each receive a trophy award. Champion and Reserve Champion showmen in the Senior, Intermediate, and Junior divisions qualify to compete in the All-Around Showmanship Contest which will be held in the Field House, Saturday, May 6, at 6:00 p.m. Check-in is at 5:30pm. 7 Senior Showmanship - 15 years old and up as of January 1 8 Intermediate Showmanship - 12 to 14 years old as of January 1 9 Junior Showmanship - 10 years old to 11 years old as of January 1 10 Pre Junior Showmanship- 8 to 9 years old as of January 1 ** The Grand and Reserve Grand Champions in both the Senior, Intermediate, Junior, and Pre Junior Showmanship classes will each receive a trophy award.

Breeding Sheep Division: Little American Royal Sheep Show Rules /group 1. Judging of Breeding Sheep will begin at 5:00 p.m. May 5, 2017. 2. Entries must be made by 5:00 p.m. 3. Ewe lambs may be shown in both Breeding and Prospect classes. 4. Breeding sheep will be divided into classes according to sex and age only. 5. Breeding sheep may be shown slick shorn. 1. Spring Ewe Lambs, born after Jan. 1, 2016 A. Spring Ewe Lambs under 90 lbs. B. Spring Ewe Lambs 90 lbs. and over. 1. Fall Ewe Lambs, lambs under 1 year of age born after Sept.1, to Dec. 31, 2015 2. Ewes one year of age and under two as of Jan. 1, 2015 3. Pen of two Ewes 4. Champion and Reserve Champion Ewe 5. Spring Ram Lambs, born after Jan. 1, 2016 6. Ewe lambs may be shown in both Prospect and Breeding classes. 6.
