What is the Irving Marathon? The Irving Marathon was established in 2012 through the collaborative efforts of the City of Irving, Irving Marathon, LLC and the Irving Healthcare Foundation. The vision of the Irving Marathon is to establish a sustainable community focused running event, encouraging athletes of all levels to lead healthy lifestyles and further their personal fitness through running. Since 2012, the Irving Marathon has partnered with the Irving Healthcare Foundation to raise nearly $35,000 through the generous contribution of our sponsors and running community. For 2018, the Irving Marathon will again partner with the Irving Healthcare Foundation. The Irving Marathon is a Boston Marathon qualifying event, enabling runners to compete on a USATF certified, officially timed course. Results are shared with the Boston Athletic Association, qualifying numbers of runners every year for the Boston Marathon. 3
Event Demographics Uniquely located in the center of Dallas Fort Worth, the Irving Marathon runner reflects a vibrant, diverse and global community. With runners representing 16 nations, the Irving Marathon is truly an international event while retaining its local, neighborhood appeal. Vision for 2018 Now in its sixth year, the Irving Marathon looks to build on its continued growth and success. New to 2018 will be the Irving Marathon s transition to the Toyota Music Factory to accommodate the more than 3,500 in expected attendance. The Toyota Music Factory is the ideal host to accommodate the Irving Marathon s rapid growth, providing ample space for event activities, parking and the Irving Marathon Race Expo. The Irving Healthcare Foundation is a 501c (3) organization with a long legacy for good work in the City of Irving. To date, the Irving Marathon project has raised over $35,000 to this worthy effort. 4
