Rosettes will be awarded for Grand and Reserve Grand Champion in each division. The order of the show IS subject to change at the discretion of the show committee. Animals without papers may not be shown. Mandatory Ethics Certification All exhibitors must have ethics certification to show at the Pasco County Fair. Certification trainings are listed at the Florida State Fair website http://www.floridastatefairag.com/pdffiles/live-ethicsformpub.pdf. Any workshop listed on the site will work for certification. Pre-registration is required. The last workshop available for exhibitors showing at the Pasco County Fair is January 10, 2018. We will have a livestock inspector on site during check in. The following breeds are sanctioned by American Dairy Goat Association (ADGA) and will be shown as listed and shown in the following order: Nigerian Dwarf, Nubian, LaMancha, Recorded Grade and All Other Purebred (AOP). The Junior and Senior Does will be separately sanctioned. ADGA Rules Shall Govern. SHOW ORDER: Youth Showmanship Senior Class Youth 14 years old to 19 years old Intermediate Class Youth 11-13 years old Junior Class Youth 8 years old to 10 years old Pee Wee Class Youth 7 years old and younger Judging will be based on the ADGA Showmanship Scorecard. Premiums will be awarded. Rosettes and ribbons will be awarded. Winner s certificates available through ADGA. See www.adga.org for more information on the Showmanship requirements. All youth exhibitors will be required to be clean and neat and dressed in white or black jeans or slacks with a solid white shirt with a white collar. Youth are encouraged to wear FFA or 4-H attire. No caps or hats. Closed-toed shoes or boots are required *no crocks*. Exhibitors not
conforming to the dress code will not be allowed to enter the Show Ring. Showmanship entries are free. Exhibitors must show a dairy goat officially entered in the youth show. SHOWMANSHIP JUDGING: 1. Judging will be based on the ADGA Showmanship Scorecard 2. Ability to show a Dairy Goat 3. Grooming and cleanliness of a goat 4. Ability to answer any questions asked by the judge 5. Knowledge of parts of the goat 6. Neatness and appropriate attire in the show ring 7. Entry Rules and Regulations ADGA RULES SHALL GOVERN 1. Entry Forms: MUST BE POSTMARKED BY JANUARY 10, 2018. ENTRIES POSTMARKED AFTER JANUARY 10, 2018 WILL NEED TO SEND A $25.00 LATE FEE. NO ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER FEBRUARY 15, 2018. ENTRY FORMS WITH FEES MUST BE MAILED AND POSTMARKED BY MIDNIGHT OF FEBRUARY 15, 2018. ENTRIES MUST BE MAILED AND WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AS HAND DELIVERY OR DROP OFFS AT THE FAIR OFFICE. Entry Fees: There will be a $10.00 (non-refundable) exhibitor fee and a $5.00 (nonrefundable) registration fee PER ANIMAL to be submitted with entry form. Make all checks out to the Pasco County Fair Youth Dairy Goat Show. ONE EXHIBITOR PASS WILL BE PROVIDED PER EXHIBITOR. We encourage all families of Dairy Goat exhibitors to purchase a family pass for the Pasco County Fair. This pass will allow all immediate members of the family to enter the fair on a daily basis throughout the length of the fair. No passes will be sold in the month of February. 3. Eligibility: Entries are limited to Florida FFA Chapter Members, 4-H Club Members and other independent youth exhibitors enrolled in school. Minimum age is 5 years old and maximum is 19 years of age as of September 1, 2017. You must however, meet the following requirements to show: 1) must complete the entry form and pay entry fees no later than the dates above. 2) Exhibitors, with the help of their parents, must read and understand the Pasco County Fair General Rules located at www.pascocountyfair.com. These rules include Safe Handling Practices, IAFE National code of Ethics, and the Livestock Addendum. 4. Fitting and Grooming: All animals must be fitted and groomed prior to their arrival of the show. 5. Substitutions: All entries must have been owned or leased and cared for by the youth by entry date. Substitutions must be cleared with the Dairy Goat Committee. 6. Animals without papers will not be shown. The official registration certificate is required for all animals over 6 months of age or older. A duplicate application for registration stamped by the ADGA office is permissible for animals under 6 months of age. 7. Animals must be naturally polled, dehorned, or dis-budded. 8. Each exhibitor must furnish his/her own pen, care, feed and supplies for your animal. You must clean up your area after release from the show. 9. Exhibitors must maintain proper conduct while exhibiting and showing their animals and while on Fair Grounds Property. Observed infractions will be dealt with by the committee.
10. Tampering with animals is prohibited. 11. Each exhibitor must assume responsibility and liability in the event of loss, death or injury to his/her animal. The Youth Dairy Goat Show Committee and The Pasco County Fair Association are not responsible for the health and safety of any animal entered or exhibited. HEALTH RULES: Health papers are required. All goats consigned for public exhibition in Florida must be accompanied by official certificates of veterinary inspection dated not more than 90 days prior, certifying animals to be free from symptoms of contagious or infectious diseases. Goats imported into Florida must have an OCVI dated not more than 30 days prior. Dairy goats originating from Florida (not imported) are exempt from TB/Brucellosis testing requirements. All imported dairy goats 6 months of age or older must originate from a certified/accredited herd (with appropriate documentation), or have verifiable, documented negative testing results recorded on the OCVI. All animals must be free from clinical symptoms of caseous lymphadentis. Animals showing clinical symptoms of this disease will not be allowed to enter the area of activity or to become associated with animals entered by other exhibitors. With reference to CL, clinical symptoms is the term used to define enlargements of the lymph nodes, whether draining or not. Evidence of incised lymph nodes will be interpreted as prima facia evidence of CL in the animal under scrutiny. All animals must be free of all contagious diseases.
