If you have not received your book and entry form please contact your leader. Horse stall fees will be waived again this year. We will s ll need to know how many stalls will be needed. Horse stalling forms are available at the Extension Office or on our county website. Horse stall forms must be completed by the June 15th entry deadline. Fair entries are due June 15.Because June 15th is a Saturday we will accept fair entry forms in the office un l Monday June 17, before 4:30pm or posted marked June 17. ANY ENTRY AFTER JUNE 17 WILL BE A LATE FAIR ENTRY! Be sure to enter each class you intend to have an exhibit in and be sure to make an entry for each exhibit. Communica on Event Communica on Event Communica ons Day will be Monday June 17, beginning at 6:00p.m.This event will be held at the Tama Civic Center. Be sure to get your scheduled me when you turn in your fair entry OR call ahead to schedule your me. Please remember to sign up for the Communica ons Day on your fair entry form. Get ready to share your knowledge, skill and excitement by par cipa ng in communica ons opportuni es. 4 Hers s may choose to par cipate in educa onal presenta ons, working exhibits, share the fun acts, or extemporaneous speaking. Just polish up a presenta on you did at your local club mee ng. Par cipa ng in communica ons is an opportunity for 4 Her s of all ages to enhance their speaking skills and gain confidence to share their knowledge with individuals and group audiences. It will be a fun and exci ng me for you to share your interest. Clothing Event Fashion Revue and Clothing Selec on Clothing Event Wednesday, June 19 at Lincoln Savings Bank in Tama Time Slots Begin at 1:00p.m. Don t forget to make an entry for either Fashion Revue, Clothing Selec on or $15 Challenge. The required forms are available on our website or the state website. Do not wait un l the day before the event to complete your forms. Be sure to get your me when you make your entry. We will fill the me slots in order before adding addi onal slots. Get your me scheduled ASAP! Fair Exhibits Fair Entry and Exhibit Write Ups What is your goal? Think about this ques ons as you decide what class to enter your exhibits in. Be sure to answer the following 3 ques ons: 1 What did you plan to learn or do? (what was your exhibit goal?) 2 What steps did you take to learn or do this? 3 What were the most important things you learned? Remember to check the fair book for dimensions for posters, display boxes, etc. Pat a en on to addi onal requirements in the fair book. Poultry Tes ng Poultry tes ng will be held on Saturday, July 6 at the Tama County Fair Grounds from 9:00a.m. 10:00a.m. If you need your poultry tested you must be at the fairgrounds and have your birds ready to test during this me. NO other test day will be set!! New Fair Contest for the 2013 Tama County Fair. The Tama County Fair Board has decided to replace the Bucket of Junk this year with a new contest. This year will be A Metal Art Sculpture Contest Any 4 H or FFA group or other community group is eligible to enter this contest. You come up with your own metal pieces that you will use for your crea on. You may clean, sand, weld, glue, cut, bolt, fasten, bend, shape, paint or finish the items you use. The goal is to create a sculpture or lawn art. You will be asked to name your crea ons when you check in at the fair. Sculpture must be checked in at the Klinefelter building on the Fair Grounds by 7:00 pm Tuesday July 16. Entries will be on display at the fair beginning Wednesday. The public may vote for People s Choice by placing coins in a container near their favorite one penny equals one vote. The crea on with the most votes will earn the designa on People s Choice and win all the money in the buckets. Money received from the bucket will go back to their club. The art will be judged on crea vity, use of materials and cra smanship. All judges decisions are final. All sculptures will be the property of the Tama County Fair Associa on and will be auc oned Friday night, July 19th on the fairgrounds. All proceeds will go toward Tama County Fair Scholarships.
