The Power had an early two run lead after the first on a Ke Bryan Hayes RBI single and Carlos Munoz sacrifice fly. Colombia tied the game 2-2 in the third on a run scoring wild pitch and a single. The back and forth contest continued in the fifth when West Virginia took a brief lead on an RBI bunt single from Tito Polo, however the Fireflies jumped back on top 4-3 in the sixth on three straight hits. The Power had another answer, as Carlos Munoz tied the game in the eighth with another RBI single. The game remained 4-4 until the eleventh, when Cole Tucker and Polo hit back-to-back doubles to plate the winning run, sending the Power to the 5-4 walk-off win. TIME FLIES: Thursday marked the first ever meeting between the Columbia Fireflies and the West Virginia Power, after the Savannah Sand Gnats moved to Columbia this past season. The teams will play a total of 15 times in 2016, including eight in Charleston. WVP Hitting- WVP Pitching- G 2 W-L 1-1 HOME STAND STATISTICS AVG..278 AB 72 H 20 R 7 ERA 3.60 EXTRA EXTRA: After Friday night s eleven inning walk-off win, West Virginia improved to a perfect 6-0 in extra inning ballgames, the best mark in the South Atlantic League. NO L IN SENDELBACH: The Power are now 9-1 in games started by Logan Sendelbach. The Tiffin, OH native received a no decision while allowing four runs in five and two thirds while striking out a season high seven in game two of the series. LUCKY 13: West Virginia pitchers tied a season high in strikeouts with 13 total during Friday s win. In addition to Sendelbach s seven, Daniel Zamora added one and Billy Roth also reached a season high with 5 K s over three innings. OPERATION ON BASE: Daniel Arribas leads all qualified Power hitters in on base percentage at.402, and is the only player on the club with a clip higher than.367. LOCATING LOGAN: Power infielder Logan Ratledge has played just a little bit of everywhere this season. Ratledge has played second, third, left field, center field and has appeared twice as a pitcher. Prior to 2016, the Charlotte, NC native had only played second and shortstop in his minor league career. THE MORE THE MERRIER: Following Thursday night s loss, the Power fell to 1-16 when they score two runs or fewer. The club is 23-7 when they plate at least three runs. POWER POINTS: Julio Eusebio picked up his team leading fourth save of the year Wednesday. The Power are tied with Kannapolis with a league-low eight saves... The Power are 19-12 in night games while they are just 4-10 in day match ups... Ke Bryan Hayes became the first Power player this season to be included in MLB.com s top 100 prospect list... John Bormann has now reached base in all 14 games he s appeared in this season. His 14 game on-base streak is the longest current streak on the Power... West Virginia stole season high four bases against the Fireflies, two of which were swiped by Tito Polo. AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Pittsburgh blew out Texas 9-1. The Pirates offense was keyed by four home runs hit by Starling Marte, Jung Ho Kang, Andrew McCutchen and Gregory Polanco... Indianapolis doubled up Pawtucket 4-2. Tyler Glasnow improved to 4-2 after allowing two runs in six innings with six strikeouts... Altoona bested Bowie 6-1. Cody Dickson gave up just one run seven inning to earn the win...
