Welcome to our 2018/2019 competitive information package. At Rebels Cheerleading Athletics, we provide athletes with a safe learning environment in which to develop good leadership skills with a focus on respect and accountability. We pride ourselves on our ability to offer unique and amazing experiences for our athletes. We offer teams for athletes of all ages from beginner to advanced. Please read through our information package to make sure competitive cheerleading is the right fit for you and your family. If you have any questions then please contact us at info@rebelscherleading.com At Rebels every athlete makes a team! We have teams for all ages and skill levels. The 2018/2019 season will begin on June 4th. During the months of June, July and August, most competitive teams practice once a week. Starting September 4th, 2018, our teams will practice twice per week. Please see our teams and schedule times below. Team placements are an opportunity for athletes to show us their skills. All athletes that attend will be placed on a team. Athletes under the age of 9 do NOT need to try out for the level 1 team. If you are not certain on the try out that best fits you then please email us at info@rebelscheerleading.com. Please look at the following schedule and requirements. Placement: Ages: Requirements: Date and Time: Level 1 Ages 5 to 18 as of August 31st, No tumbling or cheerleading experience required. May 16th 5:30 to 2018 We will teach you everything you need to know! 7:00 Level 2 Level 3 6 to 14 as of August 31st, 2018 This is for athletes with some experience. Tumbling requirements include a standing back handspring and round off back handspring. 8 to 18 as of August 31st, 2018 This is for athletes with more experience. Tumbling requirements include standing series back handspring and a running pass that ends in a tuck. May 16th 7:30 to 9:00 May 15th 5:30 to 7:00 Open 14 as of December 31st, 2019 This includes our level 4 and 5 teams. These team require previous experience including level 3 stunting. No tumbling requirements, however, a jump connected to a back tuck, and a running pass that ends in a full are assets. These teams require more commitment. May 15th 7:30 to 9:00 Athletes attending are required to pay a try-out fee of $10. You may be asked to attend more than one tryout to find the best fit for you. The tryout will include working on basic stunt technique, jumps, tumbling, and fitness level. The athletes will be notified on May 16th and 17th on what team they have been placed on. This will be communicated through email or phone. NOTE: All athletes placed on a level 2 to 5 team will undergo an extended try-out period during the months of June, July, and August. Team lists will be finalized on August 31st, 2018. During this extended try-out period, RCA head coaches have the right to move athletes from one team to another.

Registration for teams and classes will take place on May 17th and May 18th from 5:30 8:30. Registration will be held at Rebels Cheer Gym. The 2018/2019 season will start on June 4th, 2018. At registration, your athlete will be sized for uniforms, practice gear, and tracksuits. You will also have the opportunity to meet some of the coaches, see the facility, sign up for classes, and ask any questions you may have,. Registration will not be accepted without the necessary completed forms and payment. RCA accepts cheque, cash, or debit as forms of payment for fees. Every season, athletes have the opportunity to work with coaches to develop stunting technique and to teach them cutting edge material. Choreography camp teaches the athletes the routine they will have for competition season. Practices will be cancelled during skills camp and choreography camp. Classes will go ahead with a substitute coach. Attendance is mandatory for both camps. Waiver and Rules and Regulations Agreement: I, undersigned parent/guardian do hereby grant permission for my son/daughter to train at Rebels Cheerleading Athletics. I acknowledge, understand and agree that by participating in cheerleading/training, there is a possibility of physical injury/illness and that my son/daughter is assuming risk of such injury/illness by his/her participation. In order that my son/daughter may receive the necessary treatment in the event of injury/illness. I hereby authorize the staff of Rebels Cheerleading Athletics, the coaches, advisors, sponsors, and volunteers, along with the staff and/or volunteers of any of the venues in which we practice or perform: and waive all liability and responisilty for said injury/illness. I authorize Rebels Cheerleading Athletics to use photographs and/or video recordings taken of me/my child at any cheerleading event for promotional purposes. 2018 Parents Contract Please read the following document carefully. We require both parents or guardians to sign at the bottom of the contract. I agree to pay all fees associated with participating in the RCA program. I understand that all fees are non refundable once paid. Payees must give 30 days written notice to stop monthly tuition payments. I understand that attendance to all of competitions and practices are mandatory. Two unexcused absences can result in my child s removal from their competition routine. I understand that my childs coach has the right to deny requests for excused absences. I understand that any child s absences may result in returning to new spots/choreography/placement in routine(s) and/or stunts and/or formations I understand that my child must attend all camps and competitions for their team. I understand that my child may be moved from their original team placement. I will book and pay for my child s travel arrangements and hotel rooms for all competitions,. These fees are not included in the fees Ive paid RCA. I understand that athletes must stay in their specified team rooms at worlds. (applies to level 5 athletes). I will not post any videos of RCA routines on the internet before, or during competition season. I will show respect to all RCA employees, athletes, and parents. I will not post any negative or slanderous comments or material online with any reference to RCA, its owners, its employees, its athletes, or anyone else in or related to the cheerleading community. I will show respect and positivity to all coaches, athletes, parents, and officials in the cheerleading community both in person and on social media. I agree to encourage and support all athletes, parents, and officials in the cheerleading community both in person and on social media. I agree to encourage and support all athletes on my childs team and in my club. I will make sure all comments are positive. I understand that at all events I am representing our program and our team and will behave in an appropriate manner. I will refrain from calling my childs coach on their personal cell phone for any other reason that to report an absence or emergency. I understand that gym office hours are limited and I may not receive an immediate response when I call or email. I will not send mass emails or messages to members of RCA. Mass emails will be sent by RCA only. I will not try to organize team or parent meetings. When meeting with the coach, I will refrain from accusations and harmful language. I will speak with respect and consideration. Personal attacks of athlete, coaching staff, and administration will not be tolerated. As a parent, I am able to speak for myself, and not the team as a whole.

I will not gossip to other parents or athletes or spread rumours in or out of the gym. If I do so I will be asked not to return to the gym for the remainder of the season Coaches are not responsible for parents that are upset with other parents or athletes on the team. These disagreements should be handled by the parties concerned. I will respect all coaching decisions made and allow the coaching staff to do their job. I understand that the benefit of an individual will not be put ahead of the benefit of the team. Coaches reserve the right to close practices to viewing or ask parents to leave if they are a distraction to athletes, coaches, or other parents. I understand that the primary purpose of this program is to provide my child with a positive experience in which to learn good leadership skills, develop positive team relationships, and provide a positive learning environment to grow as an athletes. However, there may be times when team members become frustrated with coaches and/or other team members. I will encourage my child to talk to their coaches before the problem gets out of hand. I understand that it is my responsibility as the parent/legal guardian to pay all bills in a timely manner. If bills are not paid my child will be pulled from practice as a result. When concerns or conflicts arise, as a Rebels Cheerleading Athletics parent, I will promise to abide by the guidelines set fourth. I recognize failure to do so will affect my athletes participation in this program. If I (or my child) do not abide by the guidelines set fourth in the RCA registration package and parents/athlete contract following will take place: The first infraction will result in a written warning from RCA staff. The second infraction will result in me (or my child) being placed on probations. The third infraction will result in the removal of my athlete from the RCA program. I will put my best effort forth and display a positive attitude at every practice. I will put my team ahead of myself by being a good teammate and a team player. I will put cheerleading ahead of other extra curricular activities. I have read the attendance policy and understand that all practices are mandatory. My academic success is my #1 priority, not my #1 excuse. Homework, tests, and studying are not a valid excuse to miss practice. Two unexcused absences will result in my removal from my competition routine. I understand that my coach has the right to deny requests for excused absences. I understand that my absence from practice negatively affects my entire team. I understand that any absences may result in returning to new spots, choreography, or placement in routine(s) and/or stunts and/or formations. I will be on time to all team practices, camps, competitions, and events. I will attend all camps and competitions for my team. I understand that I may be moved my original team placement. I will stay in my specified team hotel for all out of province competitions I will stay in my specified team room at worlds (Applies to level 5 and 6 athletes). I will not post any videos of RCA routines on the internet before, or during competition season. I will show respect to all RCA employees, athletes, and parents. I will treat my coaches and teammates with respect. This includes: looking at my coach in the eye when they are speaking to me, not talking when my coach is talking, not rolling my eyes, muttering under my breath or walking away from my coach while they are talking to me. If I fail to show respect to my coach or my teammates, I will be removed from practice. I will not post any negative comments or materials online with any reference to RCA, its employees, its athletes, or anyone else in or related to the cheerleading community. I will show respect and positivity to all coaches, athletes, parents and officials in the cheerleading community both in person and on social media. I agree to encourage and support all athletes on my team and in my club. I will make sure all my comments are positive. I understand that at all events I am representing our program and our team and will behave in an appropriate manner. I will not consume alcohol or drugs while representing RCA at events or while wearing RCA clothing. I will not post innappropraite photos or language on any form of social media while I am a part of RCA. This includes photos, drugs, or innappropraite poses or activities.
