Former STAR of the Joffrey Ballet. Featured in TIME Magazine as one of America s most outstanding Ballerinas. Founder of her experimental dance troupe, Ballet D Angelo, which toured extensively in Europe. Founding Artistic Director of Ballet de Monterrey, the first privately funded arts organization in Mexico. Associate Director of the Joffrey Ballet. Choreographed over 70 ballets. Director and Producer of the annual Career Transition For Dancers Gala, which raises over $1 Million Pegged by Backstage as a multiple career artist. TRAINING: Known as a virtuoso with a phenomenal ballet technique, Ann Marie DeAngelo started ballet at age three. She studied with Fredericka Mohr at Roland and Reid Dance Studios in Burbank, California training in the Cecchetti method. She received a Ford Foundation scholarship and continued her training at the San Francisco Ballet School studying with Anatole Vilzak and Ludmilla Shollar. Before joining the Joffrey Ballet she danced with the San Francisco Opera. DANCER: DeAngelo danced with the Joffrey Ballet in the 70 s and 80 s as a principal dancer performing seasonal at City Center in New York as well as touring the United States and Russia. She was featured in TIME Magazine as one of America s most outstanding ballerinas. She worked with legendary choreographers that included: Frederick Ashton (The Dream, Les Patineurs); Gerald Arpino (Kettentanz, L Air D Esprit, Viva Vivaldi, Relativity of Icares, Reflections) George Balanchine (Tchaikovsky Pas de Deux, Tarantella); John Butler (After Eden); John Cranko (Taming of the Shrew); Agnes demille (Rodeo); Robert Joffrey (Pas de Deesses); Kurt Jooss (The Green Table, Pavan for a Dead Infanta); Jiri Kilian (Return to a Strange Land); Leonide Massine (Le Beau Danube, Parade); Jerome Robbins (Moves, Opus Jazz); Twyla Tharp (As Time Goes By, Country Dances, Deuce Coupe II); and Antony Tudor (Offenbach in the Underworld). She later danced in Europe with the Royal Antwerp Ballet, and the Frankfurt Ballet under the directorship of William Forsythe, performing in a full evening dance/theater production by opera director, Christof Nels. She also performed as a guest artist performing in all 50 United States and internationally with Stars of World Ballet (touring Australia), Stars of American Ballet, Dance Spectacular (touring Canada), Ballet Galaxy (touring Asia), Ballet Dalal Aschar (Brazil), and seven of Alicia Alonso s International Ballet Fesitval in Havanna, Cuba - where her company Ballet D Angelo premiered in 1984.

She guested with international ballet companies that included: The National Ballet of Cuba (Coppelia, Swan Lake); The Royal Winnapeg Ballet (Allegro Brilliant, Giselle, Le Corsaire, Pas D Action), The Belles Artes of Mexico City (Coppelia, Giselle, Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake), and numerous ballet companies in America. Awards included special prize for technical excellence at the prestigious 1976 International Varna Competition, and the Margot Fonteyn Artistic Excellence Award, Ballet de Monterrey. CHOREOGRAPHY highlights: Full-evening pieces Zeitgeist I & II; The Last of the Best; and Gypsy Band. Ballet company works include: Joffrey Ballet, National Ballet of Cuba, Ohio Ballet, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, Oregon Ballet Theatre, Nevada Ballet Theatre, Ballet NY, ABT II, and several works for Ballet de Monterrey. Paradise, the first ballet to star a Hip Hop dancer - Mr.Wiggles (photo right), in a lead role (1990). In 2003, Ms. DeAngelo choreographed a one-act ghost love story based on the true Bell Witch ghost story. The Bell Witch (left photo below) with original music by Conni Ellisor, was reviewed as the perfect Halloween ballet. The work used 3- D scenic design, and was nominated for a Benois de la Danse Award (2004), where a segment was performed at the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow. DeAngelo participated in the inaugural season of The National Choreography Initiative (2005), and was one of six chose choreographers to participate in Dance Break (2006), a high-profile showcase for choreographers in the Broadway community. For theater, stage and film works include: The Promise which was the first original musical in China (photo right with Chinese Acrobats) performed at the Shanghai Expo 2010,

Sesame Street Stop, Start, and Fashion TV Awards with Toni Basil, PAVLOVA for Canadian Broadcast Corporation. And, several works contributed on Career Transition for Dancer Gala s that include Carousel with John Selya and ABT s Nicole Graniero (photo left). In 2010 she commissioned and choreographed to a new song by Marvin Hamlisch (lyrics by Rupert Holmes), called I m Really Dancing - that featured Mr. Hamlisch along with Angela Lansbury, Charlotte d Amboise, Ann Reinking, Desmond Richardson, Chita Rivera, and a myriad of dancers in what is DeAngelo s signature brand of mixing dance styles and disciplines. DIRECTOR/Producer: DeAngelo Productions Created and directed 14 shows for Career Transition for Dancers at City Center, in New York City: Shall We Dance - A Tribute to Richard Rodgers ; That s Entertainment, hosted by Liza Minnelli; One World hosted by Bebe Neuwirth, Dance Rocks! hosted by Christine Ebersole; On Broadway! hosted by Angela Lansbury; America Dances!; A Halloween Thriller, hosted by Chita Rivera; Broadway & Beyond, New York, New York! 30th Anniversary Celebration. And in 2016, the first joint venture with the Actors Fund at the Marriot, Marquis in NYC. She also conceived and directed Capezio s 125th Anniversary show, at City Center in New York featuring talents and choreographers from SYTYCD including Mandy Moore, Sonya Teyah, Travis Wall; and Americas Got Talent including creators of ILuminate. She has worked personalities such as Paula Abdul, Laura Benanti, Marge Champion, Sutton Foster, Marvin Hamlisch, Valeria Harper, Dule Hill, James Earl Jones, Jane Krakowski, Angela Lansbury, Nigel Lythgoe, Ann-Margret, Shirley MacLaine, Liza Minnelli, Bebe Neuwirth, Rosie O Donnell, Ann Reinking, Chita Rivera, Brooke Shields, Tommy Tune, Ben Vereen, and Karen Ziemba.

ANN MARIE DEANGELO Other projects under the umbrella of DEANGELO PRODUCTIONS her non-profit development company include: The Variety Show Jugglin Styles, with award winning juggler/illusionist Michael Moschen; the Hamptons Dance Festival with An Evening of Jazz and Dance for Boys Harbor, hosted by Chevy Chase; and IN THE MIX!! a high-energy multi-disciplinary work. In 2009 DeAngelo directed Thank You, Gregory - A Tribute to Legends of Tap (starring Maurice Hines).
