Dive Rescue International Training Panama City Beach, FL Dive Rescue I - October 17-19, 2014 Our premier program is a must for all dive team members. From scene evaluation to incident debriefing this program covers it all. Diving and surface support personnel will learn to apply the latest techniques in underwater rescue and recovery to prepare them to respond effectively and safely to water incidents. Get started on your way to our more advanced and trainer level programs with Dive Rescue I. Topics include: Public Safety Diving Accidents, Drowning, Dive Team Organization and Management, Search Patterns, Scene Evaluation, Victim Retrieval, Service to the Family, Media & Other Agencies, Vehicle Accidents, Underwater Investigation, Field exercises This program is presented in the classroom, pool and openwater to allow students to become familiar with the techniques prior to field scenarios. Prerequisites All students must be a current member of a public safety agency, at least 18 years of age. Students must read and complete a RSTC medical statement prior to attending class. Any diver answering yes to a contraindication must have a physician s signature to participate in the diving portions of the program. Diving personnel must also have open water certification. Please make sure to present your RSTC Medical Statement to your instructor at the beginning of class. Be Sure to Bring US Coast Guard approved PFD with knife and whistle, adequate clothing and protection from the environment and pen and paper for note-taking and sketching. Diving students must provide their own equipment: Wetsuit, scuba regulator: recently serviced and environmentally protected with alternate air source (i.e.: octopus, Air II, etc.) timing device, depth and submersible pressure gauges, BC with oral/power inflator, two tanks with current Hydro & VIP, mask, snorkel, fins, weight belt and two cutting tools (knife, wire cutters, or trauma shears.) Evidence Recovery Operations - October 18-19, 2014 The Evidence Recovery Operations Specialist is specially trained in more advanced search and recovery techniques. Students will learn how to deal with crime scenes and the difficult task of evidence preservation. This program introduces students to advanced search patterns, evidence collection, crime scene equipment and management. This program is presented in the classroom, pool and openwater to allow students to become familiar with the techniques prior to field scenarios. Prerequisites All students must be a current member of a public safety agency, at least 18 years of age. Students must read and complete a RSTC medical statement prior to attending class. Dive Rescue International Training Panama City Beach, FL Interspiro Technician - October 19, 2014 The technicians who complete this training program will be certified by Interspiro to perform annual service and field maintenance on their Divator MK II full face masks. With this training, your department could not only save on thecost of repairs but also reduce the amount of downtime for your mask. This program is presented in the classroom. Prerequisites All students must be 18 years of age. Be Sure to Bring Interspiro MK II Mask, 1st stage regulator (and tank if possible), An Interspiro Mini Test Kit will be needed to test your department's masks. The Mini Test Kit can be purchased for $150.00. Dive Rescue International's Annual Service Kit is also recommended. The Annual Service Kit for masks with Safety Pressure is $105.80; without Safety Pressure is $105.16. If you need to purchase either kit, please let us know at the time of registration. Animal Rescue in Floods - October 24, 2014 When any disaster strikes, evacuation of people along with their animals is now addressed under Federal Law. This course is designed to guide Public Safety professionals and others on how to safely conduct the rescue of animals in the flood disaster waterborne environment. This course fulfills mandatory NIMS / FEMA training requirements. Program topics include: Animal Rescue In Disasters Why It Must Happen, Understanding Animal Behavior And The Human / Animal Bond, Animal Rescue Safety Issues, & Operational Methods, Small Animal Rescue Concepts, Large Animal Rescue Concepts, Exotic Animal Rescue Concerns, Use of Animal Transport & Control Equipment, Basic Animal Medical Assessment and Field First Aid. This program is presented in the classroom. Prerequisites All students must be 18 years of age. Public Safety Diver Survival - October 25-26, 2014 This course helps prepare the public safety diver to survive the next life-threatening diving situation by inoculating the diver against panic and stress. This program is designed to improve and elicit automatic responses in survival situations. The program will also cover the various stages of stress and the factors leading to panic. Participants will learn techniques to minimize the negative effects of emotional and psychological stress based on research of public safety scuba injuries and deaths over several decades. This program is presented in the classroom and pool. Prerequisites All students must be a member of a public safety agency and at least 18 years of age. Students must read and complete a RSTC medical statement prior to attending class. Any diver answering yes to any contraindication must have the form signed by a physician. Diving students must have proof of open water certification. All Diving Progams are designed for personnel who are physically fit. Participants are encouraged to participate after successfully completing the IADRS Watermanship Test or testing to a fitness level of 13 MET (Metabolic Equivalents) or greater. Participants with aerobic fitness questions or concerns should consult their physician prior to in-water training.
