Seal connection with TAPERED GASKET, WHITE (item 17). INSTALLING AIR COMPRESSOR ASS Y IMPORTANT: Every precaution must be taken to be sure air taken into the air compressor is not contaminated by water or objectionable odors. If it can be arranged, the intake line should be routed to fresh outside air. An activated charcoal filter (P/N 11121000) should be used on compressor intake. Make sure large enough intake line is used so as not to starve air intake to compressor. POWER SUPPLY LINE LINE MOTOR MOTOR MOTOR *SOLENOID/CO 2 VALVE *Solenoid/CO 2 valve electrical wires to be connected to pressure switch motor (output) terminals (parallel with compressor motor windings.) FIGURE 2. WIRING DIAGRAM WARNING: AIR COMPRESSOR ASS Y (item 1) must be anchored by chain or similar fastener to a stationary object to prevent compressor creeping during operation causing possible injury to personnel. 1. Locate AIR COMPRESSOR ASS Y (item 1) close to a 115VAC, 60Hz electrical outlet, then fasten compressor to a stationary object with chain or similar fastener. 2. Install MOUNTING BRACKET CO 2 REGULATOR (item 13) on CO 2 REGULATOR (item 11) as shown in Figure 1. Secure bracket on regulator with NUTS, 10-32 KEPS (item 12). 3
3. Fasten CO 2 regulator to wall or other supporting structure.. Connect solenoid/co 2 valve assembly inlet line to secondary CO 2 regulator 1/-inch flare (7/16-20) male outlet fitting. Seal connection with TAPERED GASKET, WHITE (item 17). 5. Connect secondary CO 2 regulator inlet to CO 2 source primary CO 2 regulator outlet. INSTALLING AIR RESERVOIR TANK The air reservoir tank should be installed in a cool location to facilitate condensing of moisture in air entering the tank allowing water to settle in bottom of tank and not entering the system. IMPORTANT: To prevent water (condensation) from entering system, water must be purged from air reservoir tank once a week by opening bleeder valve. 1. Install AIR RESERVOIR TANK (item 2) on wall or other supporting structure within 5-feet of the air compressor. 2. Connect TUBE ASS Y, CONDENSATION DRAIN (item 5) to 1/-inch flare (7/16-20) male fitting on air reservoir tank inlet tee fitting labeled IN. Seal connection with TAPERED GASKET, WHITE (item ). 3. Connect NPT male fitting end of air hose (provided with compressor) to air compressor assembly. Seal connection with pipe thread sealing compound.. Connect other end of air hose assembly to 1/-inch flare (7/16-20) male fitting on air reservoir tank tee fitting labeled IN. Seal connection with TAPERED GASKET, WHITE (item ). 5. Install REDUCER FITTING (item 8) on air reservoir tank 3/8-flare (5/8-18) male fitting labeled OUT. Seal connection with TAPERED GASKET, BLACK (item 9). 6. Connect one end of TUBE ASS Y (item 7) to REDUCER FITTING (item 8) on air reservoir tank. Seal connection with TAPERED GASKET, WHITE (item ). 7. Connect other end of tube assembly to CO 2 /air regulator assembly that will control beer keg total system pressure or a CO 2 /air manifold that several CO 2 /air regulators will be connected to control CO 2 /air pressures on several beer systems. 8. WIRE TIES (item 3) to be used in appropriate places to secure lines if necessary. ADJUSTING REGULATORS PRIMARY CO 2 REGULATOR (CO 2 SOURCE) 1. Open (turn counterclockwise) CO 2 cylinder valve slightly to allow lines to slowly fill with gas, then open valve fully to back-seat valve (back-seating valve prevents leakage around valve shaft). 2. Turn air compressor primary CO 2 regulator adjusting screw to the right (clockwise) until regulator gage registers 100-psi. SECONDARY CO 2 REGULATOR (see Figure 1 and ) Total beer system pressure, required to push beer from keg to faucet, and internal beer keg pressure must be known to calculate and properly adjust the secondary CO 2 regulator. Proceed as follows to adjust regulator. 1. Using Regulator Settings Chart (Figure ), locate curved line that corresponds with your internal keg pressure.
2. Follow the internal keg pressure curved line to the point at which it crosses the vertical line which corresponds to your total system pressure. 3. From the vertical line which corresponds to your total system pressure, follow horizontal line to left border of chart and read secondary CO 2 regulator pressure setting.. Adjust secondary CO 2 regulator to setting arrived at in previous step 3 by turning regulator adjusting screw to the right (clockwise) until regulator gage indicates required pressure setting. RETAINER O-RING *FILTER AIR BLENDER DISC RECEPTACLE *FILTER MUST BE CLEANED OR REPLACED EACH TIME FILTER ASSEMBLY IS SERVICED. FIGURE 3. CO 2 FILTER ASSEMBLY BEER KEG SECONDARY CO 2 /AIR REGULATOR WARNING: Beer keg secondary CO 2 /air regulator pressure setting must not exceed 60-psi. Exceeding 60-psi pressure setting may cause beer keg to explode resulting in possible personal injury. Adjust beer keg secondary CO 2 /air regulator at total beer system pressure by turning regulator adjusting screw to the right (clockwise) until regulator gage indicates required pressure setting. ACTIVATING CO 2 /AIR BLENDER SYSTEM 1. Make sure CO 2 cylinder valve is fully open. 2. Make sure primary and secondary CO 2 regulators are properly adjusted as instructed. 3. Plug air compressor power cord into electrical outlet, then place power switch in ON position.. Check connections for leaks and if leak(s) are found, repair as necessary. CO 2 /AIR SYSTEM MAINTENANCE AIR COMPRESSOR MAINTENANCE Air compressor air filter must be cleaned or replaced with replacement air filter (P/N 11121000) every 30 to 60 days or more often, depending upon environmental conditions. 5
PURGING CO 2 /AIR RESERVOIR TANK (WEEKLY). IMPORTANT: To prevent water (condensation) from entering system, water must be purged from CO 2 /air reservoir tank once a week. 1. Hold appropriate container under bleeder valve on CO 2 /air reservoir tank. 2. Open valve to allow water (condensation) to be purged from reservoir tank and until only CO 2 /air comes out of valve, then close valve. CLEANING CO 2 FILTER ASS Y (see Figures 1 and 3) The CO 2 filter assembly internal filter must be cleaned or replaced at least once a year under normal conditions or after any servicing or disruption of the CO 2 system. 6
