Melbourne City Ballet Education Prospectus 2018 Creating future Artists

Director s WELCOME TABLE OF CONT Artistic Director Michael Pappalardo At Melbourne City Ballet we have developed a series of programs to support young dancers into professional careers. Developed in consultation with our partners and industry, these programs are an important response to regular feedback over the years about the lack of appropriate, quality programs for young ballet dancers within Victoria seeking a professional career. Our own company has also seen various issues with artists seeking employment only to require a substantial amount of additional trainingw before they could truly develop into effective performers. Melbourne City Ballet provides well considered pathways to assist young performers through their full journey from foundation training to a career as a performing artist. We focus on those skills required for young artists to move into our own company, and to become strong candidates for other companies, both local and international. Learning through a format created by active industry professionals, Melbourne City Ballet s young artists will be molded in their technique, performance and artistry skills. in a positive learning environment.
