Downstate CHSAA S Dear Cheerleading Coach/Advisor, You are invited to participate in the CHSAA Downstate Regional Cheer Competitions for the 2017-2018 season. These events will be qualifiers for the Inaugural CHSAA State Competition being held on February 17, 2018 at The College of Staten Island. Divisions There are two high school divisions to participate in: Junior Varsity (grades 9-11) Varsity (grades 9-12) Both divisions will be broken into two categories: (5 to 16 (17 to 32 The team non-refundable registration fee will be $200.00 per team, per event. If you would like a score sheet and feedback, there is an additional $25 per team/event fee. Registration deadlines are below for each competition. Please note that in order to attend the State CHSAA Competition being held in February, your team MUST participate in TWO regional events. Failure to attend AT LEAST one regional will result in your team being ineligible for the 2019 State Competition. GENERAL RULES & INFORMATION Registration entry fee is $200 per team/per event and is non-refundable. We will have a judge for teams wishing for feedback. There will be an additional fee of $25 per team/per event if you wish feedback. Spectator Fee $10 for adults, $5 for children 12 & under and senior citizens. Competition will occur on a 54 X 42 surface (9 panels). There will be a separate warm-up area with a 54 X 42 mat. Mat time and tumble time will be provided to each team in a separate warm up gym. *All stunting is limited to this area. Each routine is limited to 2 ½ minutes. A DJ will be provided, please have two (2) copies of your music. Downstate NY CHSAA Cheerleading Score Sheet will be used (attached). We will adhere to NFHS Guidelines. Good sportsmanship must prevail throughout the entire competition this includes spectators. Refreshments and merchandise will be available for purchase Teams will not be checked in without a coach. CHSAA, Queens College, The College of Staten Island and Hofstra University are not responsible for lost or stolen items.
