All birds must be identified with a band and that band number must be on the project certificate (due June 29). SUPER STEM DAYS 2018 This year, Super STEM Days will take place Monday, July 9 through Friday, July 13, from 9:00 a.m. to noon at the at the 4-H Youth Building in Owego. This program is geared for youth ages 9 to 12 years old with hands-on STEM learning and a lot of FUN! The cost for current 4-H members for the week is $20, a savings of 20 percent. Registration is set to go public on June 11, with limited space. Please contact Melissa for more information and preregistration. 4-H FAIR ENTRY HOW-TO Fair Entry is open and ready for entries to come in! A tutorial is available on the CCE website

at: http://tioga.cce.cornell.edu/youth/4-h-youth-development/tioga-co-4-h-youth-fair This tutorial will help people with the registration process. Note that the information is from 2017, but is still applicable to the 2018 process. 4-H TEEN MEETING There will be a 4-H Teen Meeting on Thursday, June 21 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the 4-H Youth Building. Agenda items include: photography: mini-clinic, some tips and information for fair exhibits; planning for Fun Night at the Fair; volunteer/leadership opportunities; and kicking off the SWAG Sale. All 4-H youth age 13 and older are invited to attend. We will have food, so please RSVP with Melissa so that we have enough food and supplies, and indicate if you have any dietary needs. STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL PARADE PARTICIPATION OPPORTUNITY If you would like to participate in the Strawberry Festival Parade on Saturday, June 16 with the CCE Tioga County Float, please contact Melissa. We also welcome help with decorating the float on June 14. Please contact Melissa for more information. 2018 4-H CLOVER CAFÉ DATES It s time to sign up for your club s Clover Café date or to work in a Clover Café per your Parent Commitment. Contact Jody in the 4-H Office to sign up for a Clover Café date. The following dates need to be filled. All times are 9:00 a.m. until done (typically 4-5 p.m.) and are at the 4-H Youth Building on the Tioga Co. fairgrounds. The shifts are: 9:00 a.m. - noon ; 11:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. ; and 2-5 p.m. (or until done). The dates are: Saturday, July 14 - speed show Sunday, July 15 - performance show Saturday, July 28 - speed show Sunday, July 29 - speed show Sunday, August 5 - performance show Sunday, September 16 - performance show PRE-FAIR ANIMAL SCIENCE MEETING The Pre-Fair Animal Science meeting with the NYS Ag & Markets veterinarian is scheduled for Tuesday, June 19 at 6:00 p.m. in the auditorium of the Tioga Co. Office Building. All animal science members, parents and volunteers are encouraged to attend. PULLORUM TESTING SCHEDULED This year s Pullorum testing for 4-H poultry project members will be on Thursday, June 28 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. in the 4-H Youth Building. WALK/TROT DRILL TEAM TO FORM A Walk/Trot Drill Team for presentation at the Tioga Co. fair horse show is forming. Riders need to be evaluated at least at the walk/trot level on their horse and must have a way to trailer their horses to

practices. No previous experience necessary. If interested, please contact Jill Lukach at 7540-8474 or jlukach@sstny.rr.com. A meeting, without horses, will be scheduled for next week. SURVIVING A ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE: A WEEKEND FILLED WITH OUTDOOR ADVENTURES Save the date and join the Youth in Nature and Outdoor Education Program Work Team as they try to Survive a Zombie Apocalypse (just pretend). From Friday, Sept. 28 to Sunday, Sept. 30, at the beautiful 4-H Camp Bristol Hills in Canandaigua, NY youth will learn outdoor survival skills to keep safe when the invasion comes. Learn skills such as fishing, fire building, preparedness packing, outdoor cooking, and more! Although the zombies are coming, weekend participants will be safe in rustic cabins and have fantastic meals prepared for them in the dining hall. Storytelling and fun games will be part of the schedule. Space is limited. The weekend is open to youth ages 10 and up. Registration is required. RSVP must be received by Saturday, Sept. 15. The cost is $70.00 per participant for the weekend.
