2017 VIRGIN AUSTRALIA SUPERCARS CHAMPIONSHIP RACES 9 & 10 Winton SuperSprint Winton Motor Raceway, Winton, Victoria. 19 th to 21 st May 2017 Document SWR04 STEWARDS SUMMARY OF JUDICIAL OUTCOMES #3 (FINAL): issued Sunday 21st May 2017 at 1900hrs. Matters from Qualifying for Race 10: Following the session the DRD conducted an investigation into a suspected breach of the Driving Code of Conduct (Schedule B2 Article 2 Carless Driving) by Car #19, Will Davison, who was alleged to have blocked Car #3, Taz Douglas. The DRD determined that Car #19 was not wholly or predominantly to blame for the Incident and that the matter did not warrant referral to the Stewards. After the session the DRD conducted an investigation into a suspected breach of the Driving Code of Conduct (Schedule B2 Article 2.1 Careless Driving) by Car #34, James Moffat, blocking Car #888, Craig Lowndes, on Turn 10 when Car #888 was on a flying lap. Following an admission to the Breach, the Stewards imposed a Two (2) Grid Spot Penalty on Car #34 in Race 10. The DRD conducted an investigation into a suspected breach of Rule D12.7 by Lucas Dumbrell Investments Pty Ltd after a wheel nut from Car #62 was alleged to have rolled all the way across the fast lane in Pit Lane. Following an admission to the breach, the Stewards imposed a Fine of $1,000 on Lucas Dumbrell Investments Pty Ltd. Matters from Race 10: Following the Race the DRD conducted an investigation into an allegation that Prodrive Racing (Australia) Pty Ltd had breached Rule D12.8.2 by failing to place incompressible jacks under Car #5 during a Pit Stop before a member of its Team personnel went under the Car. After reviewing footage of the Pit Stop from the Team Pit Boom Camera, the DRD found that an incompressible jack had been placed under Car #5 and that therefore no breach of the Rules had been committed. The DRD conducted an investigation into an Incident at Turn 10 on Lap 1 involving contact between Car #21, Tim Blanchard, and Car #26, Shae Davies, alleged to have resulted from Careless Driving by Car #21 in breach of the Driving Code of Conduct (Schedule B2 Article 2). The DRD determined that no breach of the Rules had been committed and that it did not warrant referral to the Stewards. The DRD conducted an investigation into an Incident at Turn 7 on Lap 5 involving contact between Car #78, Simona de Silvestro, and Car #56, Jason Bright, alleged to have resulted from Careless Driving by Car #78 in breach of the Driving Code of Conduct (Schedule B2 Article 2). The DRD determined that neither driver was wholly or predominantly to blame for the Incident and that it did not warrant referral to the Stewards. The DRD conducted an investigation into an Incident at Turn 12 on Lap 50 involving contact between Car #26, Shae Davies, and Car #23, Michael Caruso, alleged to have resulted from Careless Driving P a g e 1

by Car #26 in breach of the Driving Code of Conduct (Schedule B2 Article 2). As a result of the contact, Car #23 left the track and did not finish the Race due to damage sustained after a collision with a tyre barrier. The DRD determined that Car #26 was not predominantly to blame for the Incident and that interlocking wheels of the two Cars caused Car #23 s steering to break. The DRD conducted an investigation into an alleged Incident at Turn 7 on Lap 56 involving contact between Car #22, James Courtney, and Car #56, Jason Bright, alleged to have resulted from Careless Driving by Car #22 in breach of the Driving Code of Conduct (Schedule B2 Article 2). The DRD reviewed the Judicial Footage from Lap 55 to the end of the Race, found no evidence of such an Incident and determined that the matter did not warrant referral to the Stewards. An investigation by the DRD into an Incident involving contact between Cars #4 and #56 at Turn 1 on Lap 1 is continuing and will be resolved prior to Race 11 at Hidden Valley. The Stewards imposed a penalty comprising both a Fine of $3,000 and loss of Thirty (30) 2017 Virgin Australia Supercars Teams Championship Points on Motorsport Holdings Pty Ltd for a breach of Rule D12.8.2 (Failure of Teams personnel to have complete control of all equipment and parts during a Pit Stop) for Car #15 with the result that a piece of equipment or a part rolled into another Pit Bay. The Stewards imposed a Pit Lane Penalty on Car #3, Taz Douglas, for a failure to obey a red light at Pit Exit while the Safety Car was in operation in breach of Rule D11.2.6. The DRD conducted an investigation into an Incident at Turn 4 on Lap 2 involving contact between Car #26, Shae Davies, and Car #78, Simona de Silvestro, which was alleged to have resulted from Careless Driving by the Driver of Car #26 in breach of the Driving Code of Conduct (Schedule B2 Article 2.1). Following an admission to the breach, the Stewards imposed a Five (5) Second Post Race Time Penalty on Car #26, Shae Davies, to be added to Car #26 s Race Time for Race 10. The DRD conducted an investigation into a report from the ST&D that the wheels of Car #99 were rotating whilst Car #99 was off the ground during its Pit Stop on Lap 28 without ST&D approval in breach of Rule D12.8.9. Following an admission to the breach, the Stewards imposed a Post Race Pit Lane Penalty Time of Twenty-Eight (28) Seconds to be added to the Race Time for Car #99. The DRD conducted an investigation into an Incident at Turn 11 on Lap 55 involving contact between Car #2, Scott Pye, and Car #31, James Golding, which was alleged to have resulted from Reckless Driving by the Driver of Car #2 in breach of the Driving Code of Conduct (Schedule B2 Article 2.2). Following an admission to the breach, the Stewards imposed a Penalty of loss of Thirty-Five (35) 2017 Virgin Australia Supercars Championship Points on Car #2, Scott Pye. The DRD conducted an investigation into a report from the ST&D that Motorsport Holdings Pty Ltd failed to ensure that an SD Card was installed in Car #7, Todd Kelly, as required for the operation of the Judicial Camera System in breach of Rule 3.2. Following an admission to the breach, the Stewards imposed a Penalty comprising both a Fine of $10,000 (of which $7,500 is suspended until 31 December 2017) and loss of Fifty-Four (54) 2017 Virgin Australia Supercars Teams Championship Points. Saturday 20th May 2017 Matters from Practice Part 3: Matters from Qualifying for Race 9: Matters from Race 9: Following the Race the DRD conducted an investigation into an Incident on Lap 1 when Car #3, Taz Douglas, made contact with Car #78 at the exit of Turn 9. The DRD determined that neither Driver was wholly or predominantly to blame for the Incident and that the matter did not warrant referral to the Stewards. The DRD conducted an investigation into an Incident at Turn 3 and the entry to Turn 4 when Car #99, Dale Wood, made contact with Car #56, Jason Bright and determined that neither Driver was wholly or predominantly to blame for the Incident. The DRD conducted an investigation into an Incident involving Cars #8, Nick Percat, and #22, James Courtney on Lap 40 involving contact between the Cars starting from the entry to Turn 3, through Turn 3 and on the entry to Turn 4. Car #22 left the track as a result and did not finish the Race. Having considered all of the available evidence, including data from both Cars, judicial in-car camera footage, broadcast vision and interviews of both Drivers, the DRD determined that neither Driver was wholly or predominantly to blame for the Incident. The Stewards imposed a Pit Lane Penalty on Car #6, Cam Waters, for exceeding the pit lane speed limit at pit entry (46kph). The Stewards imposed a Pit Lane Penalty on Car #14 for a driving infringement (Reckless Driving causing contact with Car #15 at Turn 1 on Lap 26). P a g e 3

Friday 19 th May 2017 Matters from Additional Drivers Practice: Matters from Practice Part 1: Matters from Practice Part 2: The DRD conducted an investigation into a suspected breach by Car #2, Scott Pye, of Schedule D3 Article 2.2 failure to return to the pits in response to a Red flag. The DRD determined that the matter did not warrant referral to the Stewards because the Driver of Car #2 did not have clear sight of the Red flag prior to passing Pit Entry. Several other Incidents remain under investigation by the DRD. Following an investigation by the DRD into a suspected breach by Car #26, Shae Davies, of Rule D3.1.4 crossing the control line more than once at the end of the session and an admission to the breach, the Stewards imposed a Five (5) Minute Time Penalty on Car #26 to be served at the start of Practice 3. Following an investigation by the DRD into a suspected breach of Schedule B2 Article 3 Code of Driving Conduct (leaving the track at Turn 1 and shortcutting the circuit to rejoin at Turn 10) by Car #62, Alex Rullo, and an admission to the breach, the Stewards imposed a Five (5) Minute Time Penalty to be served at the start of Practice 3. P a g e 4
