SUMMER READING RISING GRADES 9, 10, 11, and 12 Honors Courses AP Courses Dear English Students, Because reading is a fundamental part of everyone s education, we have assigned summer reading lists for all rising 9 th, 10 th, 11 th, and 12 th graders enrolled in honors and AP English courses. We have readings for you because over the course of the year your teacher will guide you on an exploration of different themes through reading assignments, writing prompts, group work, a research project, and other exciting activities. We want to ensure that all our students have a varied reading background to pull into the classroom activities. Included in this handout is a list of titles from each of the high schools for their honors/ap students. The list is just a summary of assignments. Please visit your school s website to obtain the specific assignment instructions. Note that XA beside a class denotes the assignments for students assigned to the Center at that school. We also hope that you will take advantage of Henrico County Public Library s summer reading program. This year, the public library is offering students the opportunity to record their summer reading books online at the YA Summer Reading Club. Please visit www.henricolibrary.org for more information. We hope you enjoy a summer full of wonderful books!
