March 11, 2013 Bring Out The Best Combining dance routines from hip-hop to Backstreet Boys and from dance-pop to N Sync, the Soul Brothers four young men with Down Syndrome offered tangible proof to our Rotary audience that it is their abilities and attitude, not their disabilities, that matter most. http://youtu.be/p6xde8ck8b4 Our speaker, Meagan Weaver of DSANI [Down Syndrome Association of Northeast Indiana] reviewed the facts about this genetic abnormality. And she also explained the education, support, advocacy, and inclusion mission of her organization. To support that mission, each October for the past 14 years, DSANI has sponsored an annual Buddy Walk. Last year s event at Shoaff Park the most successful ever had over 1,100 participants and raised over $75,000. For more information about DSANI or this year s Buddy Walk on October 5 th, visit www.dsani.org.

Last Week s Sergeants Program Headliners themselves, the tag-team duo of Jeremy Redding and Allie Braun gave us a quick, but hilarious, tour of gaffs found in newspaper headlines, billboards, restaurant menus, and classified ads. Some, were unintentionally (?) bawdy. Share the event info with your kids, grandchildren and the neighborhood s 9 th -11 th graders. They should come to explore and discover why and how they can study and travel to another country while in high school. An international experience can be can be a life changing experience. For Allen County students it s even an affordable opportunity thanks to great scholarship assistance.
