LEAGUE TABLE CHAIRMAN S We welcome the players, staff, committee and supporters of Unite MK to Brickfield Lane today for our Spartan South Midlands Clash. Our lads are raring to go after a great of wins with two back-toback 3-2 away victories in recent weeks. The top end of the table is incredibly tight and we must ensure that we keep the pressure on the leaders, Park Tom Buzzard and Ed Harvey View, knowing we still have to play them once more. We are fully aware of the task in front of us today, and wish all club players and staff of Unite MK the best of luck for the game, and the rest of the season. Enjoy the game! WELCOME 3 4
Unite MK were comprehensively beaten by AFC in our club s first ever win back in August. Ali and Scott both scored a brace and Phinn-Archer and Serwin both got on the scoresheet in a 6-1 rout. However, the Bletchleybased club bounced back quickly and are now stable in the league, sitting eighth, with five games in hand on the team above. Unite s form of late has been indifferent, and they come into today s game off the back of consecutive 3-0 defeats to sixth-placed Aston Clinton, home and away. Back when we met Unite most recently, Eddie Munnelly came off the bench to score a consolation goal for AFC after Unite MK struck home three times in the second half in the Cup quarterfinal. Rak Hudson s side had beaten holders Mursley United before facing Unite, but were in poor form going into this game. Myles Braham gave the visitors the lead just after half-time, striking unchallenged just inside the box. Unite earned themselves a two-goal cushion with an emphatic strike from Jakub Tomsik on the edge of the box as Southgate failed to close him down quick enough. Luke Little put the game beyond doubt with 15 minutes remaining. He was fed through nicely as he escaped the attention of his marker before striding across the box and pulling it back towards the left post of Osman Barkat. Eddie Munnelly powered in a shot from outside the area for his first goal for the club in added time. With no runners on the wings, Munnelly sensed an opportunity and it was a good strike, though it ultimately meant nothing. AFC are unbeaten since this Cup defeat. MATCH REPORTS TRING TOWN 2-3 AFC SOUTHGATE The Dragons made it nine games unbeaten, a run that has now lasted 112 days, with a second consecutive 3-2 win in. That result put Rak Hudson s men in a commanding position in the league table, sitting behind only Park View with five points separating the two sides. For the third consecutive game, Oltian Klosi opened the scoring for AFC. Chinua Phinn-Archer, the only player who leads Klosi in the club s goalscoring charts, doubled the lead within three minutes. It was up to Klosi to ensure AFC s winning run continued, netting in the 76th minute for his eighth goal in four games. The Albanian doubled both his and the Dragons tally five minutes later. Amersham grabbed one back before the break, with an assertive early position not being capitalised on fully, but that created an eventful second half. Josh Scott was brought off the bench by Hudson, only to be sent off 18 minutes later. Klosi sealed a hat-trick in the 90th-minute, further stating his importance to the team in the last two months.
