MADILL 24.7" 365 TILT SET-UP PROCEDURE WITH REXROTH VALVE ON MACHINE
MADILL 24.7" SAW - 365 DEG. TILT-REXROTH VALVE DANGER DO NOT perform any adjustment on sawhead unless saw blade lock bolt and guard are installed and sawhead is positioned on firm level ground. DO NOT enter grab arm pinch zone while engine is running. GRAB & ACCUMULATING ARMS AND WRIST 2 nd Pump - Install differential pressure gauge, HI to the P test port on the pump controller facing down and LO to LS test port on the pump controller facing the right side of the machine. - Set the engine at high idle. - Engage wrist left. Adjust the implement pump margin control to achieve 300 psi. This is the smaller of the two valves on the pump controller. - Stop engine and remove differential gauge and install a 6000 psi gauge in the pump P test port. - Engage grab arm close and adjust the large compensator on the 2 nd pump to achieve 4250 psi at the P port. - Engage grab arm open and verify 4250 psi. - Engage accumulator arm close and verify 4250 psi. - Engage accumulator arm open and verify 4250 psi. - Engage grab arm close and adjust the large compensator on the pump to achieve 4050 psi at the P port. - Remove 6000 psi gauge from pump P test port and install in LS test port on pump. - Engage grab arm close. Pressure on gauge should read 3950 psi. The load sense reliefs are set to 3950 psi at the Rexroth factory. See Madill Drawing D6493C item #4 for adjustment if necessary. - Engage grab arm open to check the 3950 psi. - Engage accumulator arm close to check the 3950 psi. - Engage accumulator arm open to check the 3950 psi.
MADILL 24.7 SAW 365 DEG. TILT-WITH REXROTH VALVE HYDRAULIC PRESSURE CHECKING AND ADJUSTING PROCEDURE WRIST: - Refer to sketch of swing relief valve before proceeding. - Disconnect and cap all pilot lines from the motor x-line reliefs. Be sure to label the lines for re-connection. - Turn both x-line reliefs low pressure sections all the way in on both motors (4 valves). - Install 6000 psi gauge in test port on wrist motor. - Engage wrist left. - Starting with the reliefs turned in, adjust the x-line relief high pressure sections on both motors down to achieve 3500 psi under the above conditions. To do this, lower each relief in 100 psi increments until 3500 psi is reached. - Engage wrist left and adjust the low pressure sections of both motors until the spool comes out of contact with the spring. Then back-in until contacts spring, then lock it. - Repeat the relief adjusting procedure for wrist right. - Stop the engine and reconnect the pilot lines - Check to ensure wrist pressure is at 3500 psi (if pressure is low, pilot lines are crossed).
MADILL 24.7 SAW 365 DEG. TILT-WITH REXROTH VALVE HYDRAULIC PRESSURE CHECKING AND ADJUSTING PROCEDURE SAWHEAD MOTOR FUNCTIONS: - 3 rd Pump - Install 6000 psi gauges in the saw block gauge pressure test port. - Set the engine at high idle and adjust the saw pump margin control to achieve 280 psi of standby pressure in the saw block pressure test port. This is the smaller of the two valves on the pump controller. - Ensure that the saw blade is blocked from turning and switch the saw on. - Adjust the large saw pump compensator to achieve 2700 psi at the saw block pressure test port. - Adjust the saw ready switch to turn the light off, then back to just turn the light on. - Adjust the large saw pump compensator to achieve 3700 psi at the saw block pressure test port. - Adjust the saw motor begin of regulation screw on the backside of the saw motor to achieve 1000 ± 70 psi in the M test port on the saw motor. - Adjust the large compensator to achieve 4100 psi at the saw block pressure test port and then turn the saw off and remove blocking. - Remove the minimum displacement adjustment screw, ensure that it is 4.33 (110mm) screw. Adjust it so that 0.157 (4.0mm) protrudes from the jam nut. - Remove all gauges and tip the cutting head over so that the saw blade is visible to the operator and resting perpendicular on the ground. - Apply reflective tape near the centre of the saw blade for use with tachometer. - Turn the saw on and once it has reached a steady speed, check and if necessary adjust the minimum displacement screw to achieve 1100 ± 25 rpm.

Changed from fan override to engine water temperature to set for fan settings. June 3, 2007 B Margin pressure on 2 nd pump decreased to 300 psi. This was possible with an increased LS supply orifice in fan spool. 2 nd pump margin adjusting procedure revised to use override switch. Fan parameters added. October 28, 2007 C Removed fan circuit information as fan supply moved to main pump. Second pump margin adjustment now done via wrist rather than fan. Saw disc motor begin of regulation pressure changed from 3900 to 3700 psi. Saw disc pump pressure compensator pressure changed from 4000 to 4100 psi.
