A tough one. $400.00 Item 292-15 3 LQ tied by scarce St. John 1868, 3 Large Queen tied by seldom seen St. John N.B. cds (MacMAnus type E) on cover paying 3 rate to Hampton (Kings County). This device is very tough to find and I ve seen only a few. The unusual devices were: St. John N.B. Canada cds and St. John New Brunswick double broken circle. $75.00 SOLD

Scarce on Jubs. $75.00 SOLD Item 292-21 Unpaid to France 1863, stampless folded letter mailed unpaid from Montreal to Paris France (b/s) surprisingly via Quebec (b/s). Carried by the Canadian Steamer Damascus (Allan Line winter trip) and Endorsed via Portland and Liverpool but routed via Quebec. GB 2F accountancy marking (debit to GB, applied in London). The Damascus carried the Canadian mail on 27 trips only from 1863 to 1867. A very elusive transatlantic letter. $400.00
