Regulation 1. Trekking poles are not allowed. 2. Failure to meet the time limit for each checkpoint will require you to forfeit your time chips and bib number and descend the mountain. Racers who finish within the time limits are determined as finishers. However, in case of bad weather the time limit changes. Must have experiences that you have completed full marathon (42.195 km) within 5 hours AND/OR must have experiences that you have completed trail race over 20 km distance within the time limit.
CAUTION Due to the difficulty of the race, summit course racer applications will be closely reviewed by the local track and field association. Racers may be denied participation based on previous race times or lack of substantial experience even if you meet the criteria. This is determined on a case-by-case basis. Participation in this year s race has been offered as a gift in exchange for a donation. Invitational Participants 1 st place winners of the Summit Course or 5 th Station Course over the past 3 years will be invited to participate in the race free of charge. Racers must register and pick up racer packets on the day before the race. 2. The racer packet includes essential items like bib numbers, timing chips, and drop bags. 3. The race organization will not ship racer packets. Bib Numbers Fill out your emergency information on the backside and attach to your front and back with provided pins. Timing Chips Results for the race will be recorded with the aid of an RS tags attached to each shoe. Drop Bags Small Green Bag To the 5th Station for you to access immediately after finishing (e.g. small towel, jacket, cell phone) Large Clear Bag To Hokuroku Park for you to access once you have descended (e.g. luggage, change of clothes) Accommodations Racers are responsible for securing their own accommodations. Local accommodations will be made available shortly. We encourage all racers to secure their accommodations as soon as they have received confirmation of their participation in the race. The Fuji Mountain Race falls within the Mt. Fuji climbing season so securing accommodations in the area will be increasingly difficult the longer you wait.
Race Access Due to parking limitations we ask all runners to arrive at Fujiyoshida City Hall by other modes of transport (taxi, hotel shuttle, bus, etc.) Event venue access Access page Private Vehicles Parking permits for private vehicles are only issued when racers choose car option on the race application process and will be included in the racer packet. Shuttle buses will run between designated parking lots and event venue. Vehicles will be towed if they exceed the allotted parking time after the race. Parking laws are strictly enforced. There will be penalties for those parking illegally on the streets or in non-race designated parking lots. Summit T-shirt Ship to address provided in application. 5th Station Towel Sport towel available at the race expo area after the race. ** Finisher T-shirts and/or race results often return to the race organization due to the incorrect home address. Racers should confirm their home address to receive these items. Re-shipping fees will be the responsibility of the recipient. Important Notice 1. It shall be deemed that racers have accepted the terms and conditions. 2. Mt. Fuji is an active volcano. The race may be cancelled at any time for the sake of disaster prevention. Racers should consistently check the forecast and warning alerts and should carry a mobile phone to receive emergency information and/or warnings. The use of safety equipment such as helmets, goggles, and masks is highly advised. 3. Application cancellations, course change, and double application are not allowed. 4. Falsifying qualifications, age, gender, etc., as well as the entry of persons other than the applicant are not allowed. Participation will be denied on the grounds of such violations, and applicants will lose the right to participate in future races. 5. The race organization will not be held responsible nor will insurance cover accidents for following cases: Racers who have falsified qualifications, age, gender, etc. / persons who have unlawfully
entered the race in the place of the applicant. Racers who continue to ascend the mountain even after they have been directed by race organizers to retire and descend due to failure to meet time limits at checkpoints and/or goals. 6. The race organization will get sports insurance coverage for the duration of the event. 7. Because this is a mountain race, swift emergency medical treatment cannot always be guaranteed. It is the responsibility of racers to monitor and manage their physical condition leading up to and during the race. 8. If during the race, a doctor deems a racer unable to participate due to illness or injury, the racers must obey their orders. If they do not, racers will be forced to forfeit the race. 9. This race takes place at a high altitude with steep inclines. Racers must have the appropriate gear for such conditions (suitable for rainy, windy and cold conditions.) 10. The race organization will not be held responsible for any accidents that occur during the race. 11. The race records will be measured by RS tags. 12. The race may be canceled or shortened due to disaster or bad weather. This decision will be made by the race chairman and the presiding judge. There will be no refunds. 13. It shall be deemed that racers have accepted the possibility that their videos, pictures, articles, and race results may be broadcasted on TV, newspapers, magazines, websites, race posters, race brochures, the Fuji Mountain Race official website, etc. and therefore will not object to media publications by the race organization. 14. Racers belongings in small green bags (drop bag) will be carried to the 5th Station. Racers must secure their own valuables, as the race organization will not be held responsible for any missing valuables. 15. There will be penalties for those parking illegally on the streets or in non-race designated parking lots. Racers must park their vehicles in designated parking lots, and use the shuttle bus running between parking lots and event venues. Vehicles will be towed if they have exceeded the allotted parking time after the race. 16. Public urination and/or defecation will be treated as grounds for expulsion from the race. Racers must follow rules of etiquette. Racers must use the bathroom facilities provided during the race. If it is found that racers have violated these terms, they will be forced to retire from the race and will lose the right to participate in future races. The police will notified in severe cases. 17. The race organization will not accept questions and/or concerns by phone. 18. Racers must follow all terms and conditions of the race. If they do not, they will forfeit their participation in the race. Email the race organization for questions and/or concerns. 19. The race headquarters will be in the parking lot in front of the Fuji Hokuroku Park gymnasium. 20. The road at the starting line will be temporarily closed for 5 minutes after each course starts. Racers will await the start of the race on the road. 21. Shuttle buses will run from the 5th Station to Fuji Hokuroku Park after the race. The buses are reserved for racers. Family and persons who have not participated in the race are not allowed. Shuttle buses will also run from Fuji Hokuroku Park to designated temporary parking
lots as well as Fujisan Station. 22. The 5th Station Course finisher prize will only be available at the headquarters on race day. 23. Confirm more upcoming race information on the official website.
