CONDITIONS & REGULATIONS Run under the auspices of the Dairy Goat Society of Australia JUDGE: Murray Grills JUDGING: 9.30 a.m. Friday 26 October 2018 The Society's 1st, 2nd & 3rd Prize ribbons will be awarded in all classes where merited. Entries will be accepted on the understanding that should they be in excess of the accommodation, the number of exhibits will be reduced accordingly. The Council of the RAST will allocate pens & exhibitors will be notified. All goats may be inspected by stewards for tattoos prior to judging. Animals (excluding kids) not tattooed, will not be accepted for judging. A lunch break will be taken at the discretion of the Chief Steward. All Does entered in Class 16, Type & Prod., should be penned and stripped out at 7.00pm Monday. All other does in milk must be penned by and stripped out in the presence of stewards at 7.00pm on Tuesday prior to judging. GOATS MAY NOT LEAVE UNTIL AFTER 12 NOON SATURDAY 1. Exhibitors must be members of the Dairy Goat Society of Aust. 2. Bucks must be adequately restrained and presented in appropriate show condition. 3. In addition to any special regulations herein all Exhibitors in this section are subject to the General Regulations for Competitors and Exhibitors of the Royal Agricultural Society of Tasmania, copies of which are available on request from the Society. TYPE & PRODUCTION TEST CONDITIONS: Class 16 & 17 is open to all DOES irrespective of Breed. This will consist of a 24 hour milking test, the first milking to take place in the presence of the stewards at 7 p.m. Monday of Show week, & the does to be stripped right out. The next two consecutive milkings at 8 a.m. & 7 p.m. the next day (Tuesday) to count for the actual test. Milk must be a min. 3.0% butter fat content and 3 Kilos of milk to qualify. Points shall be calculated as follows: For production, Q * points. For Type Judges to award points up to a max. of 100. SATURDAY CONDITIONS Any animal or fleece rejected upon inspection as being unfit for exhibition by the appointed RAS Inspector shall be excluded from the show and shall not be eligible for re-inspection. Maximum length of fleece on both animals and fleece entries shall not to exceed 180 mm on the day of the show. Animals should be in their natural state unwashed Animals and Fleeces to be delivered to the Angora Section under the (Main Grandstand) by 10am WEDNESDAY of SHOW WEEK. Exhibitors may depart after 3.00 pm on Saturday of show week. Animals carrying live or dead lice shall be excluded from showing together with all other animals from that exhibitor. All exhibits to be the property of the exhibitor. NLIS INFORMATION Goats born from the start of 2015 must be identified with an NLIS tag (visual not electronic) before leaving any property.
