TAKE THE BUS TO KNOX The Knox bus services provide safe and convenient transport of Knox boys to and from School. WE OFFER Pick up and drop off at school gates - Prep and Senior School campuses Fixed timetable and route with daily chartered bus services allowing families to plan their week Fully air-conditioned modern buses provided by North Sydney Bus Charters Fixed cost per term for return and one way travel CURRENT ROUTES Upper Northern Beaches/Pittwater (two services - starting at Avalon and Church Point) Dee Why/Collaroy/Narrabeen/Elanora Heights Forestville/Belrose Balgowlah/Seaforth (starting at Balgowlah) Lower North Shore (starting at Mosman) Greenwich/Lane Cove/North Ryde (starting at Longueville) Hills District (Castle Hill and Dural) - a new service in 2018 NEW ROUTES Our bus services are very popular and, in consultation with our parents, we are always reviewing our services. We appreciate feedback from our community and plan further new and revised services in the future. HOW TO REGISTER AND PAY FOR OUR KNOX BUS SERVICES 2018 cost: Return: $700 per semester; $1,400 per year One way: $400 per semester; $800 per year Register: From January 2018 To register your son s usage of the bus, please complete the online form at www.knox.nsw.edu.au/busregistration from January 2018. Places are limited and will be allocated in order of application. Bus usage charges will be billed to your school account. Students using our bus service will be issued with a bus pass. A replacement card fee of $10 will be charged for lost passes. Please contact Mary Witherow at witherowm@knox.nsw.edu.au or 9487 0195 should you require assistance. Transport to and from school is ultimately the responsibility of parents/guardians. KNOX BUS POLICY All Knox boys have a right to travel safely. It is each boy s responsibility to behave in a manner that ensures the safety and comfort of passengers and drivers at all times on Knox buses. Travelling on these buses is a privilege and not a right. Students using our bus service will be issued with a bus pass. A replacement card fee of $10 will be charged for lost passes. UNIFORM All boys must wear full school uniform when waiting at bus stops and alighting from the bus, morning and afternoon. This includes boaters/caps, ties, belts, or full sports uniform when appropriate. Please refer to the School Uniform Policy for details. RESPECT FOR PEERS Boys are required to respect other boys on the bus by: Keeping conversations to an appropriate volume and using appropriate language. Swearing is unacceptable. Ensuring that all digital media i.e. games / music are at an appropriate age rating. Boys should not share games or content with younger boys. Not annoying other boys at any time. PERSONAL SAFETY To ensure safety on the bus all boys are required to: Remain seated with seatbelt on at all times on the bus. Wait until the bus has stopped prior to removing seatbelt. Follow the driver s instructions at all times. RESPECT FOR THE BUS Boys are required to show care and respect for the bus / driver by: Showing travel pass to the driver when requested. No distracting the bus driver from driving the bus. Reporting all vandalism / damage to the bus. Refraining from eating and drinking on the bus. Drinking water is acceptable. CONSEQUENCES Students who fail to adhere to the respect for others and their own personal safety may experience the following consequences, dependent on the severity of the incident. 1. A warning from the school. 2. A period of time suspended from using the bus service. 3. Bus pass revoked.
