2 Key operating rules relating to all Brisbane Ranks Only ride on BCC/private landholder approved routes of travel Riding in shared use zones In pedestrian zones where riding is permitted: go DEAD SLOW at all times max speed of 5-7 kilometres per hour do not ring your bell to clear the path when travelling along any shared pedestrian and cycle pathway you must wait till a natural gap appears to overtake pedestrians No soliciting Riders stand beside their cab and wait for customers to approach Mandatory use of seat belts Riders must ensure the customers are buckled up before starting any journey It is the rider s job to do the belt up to ensure it is secure Aligning cabs at ranks Riders must position cabs to fit in the designated rank space so that the rank looks neat and orderly at all times cabs should always be aligned Move on when asked If for any reason authorities (police/council officers/landholder reps) ask you to move on, please do as they ask with no questions Don t block access to facilities Please don t block access to steps, path entrances, bicycle racks etc when either parked at designated ranks or when accepting hailed fares or travelling slowly along any roadway or shared pathway Note All other rules pertaining to operating procedures are fixed to the underside of cab seats please refer to these or ask the rank manager if you have any questions
