SIS30413 CERTIFICATE III IN OUTDOORS & RECREATION Become a professional Scuba Diver Gold Coast Dive Centre is proud to offer Cert III/IV in Outdoor and recreation, where can lead you to a profession recognized all over the world, not all countries recognize qualification gained in Australia. This course can be your new interest or to change career!! Our students will receive a certificate of attainment on completion of the course, students will have the option to chose a worldwide recognized certification in the scuba dive industry. Course Length: 11 Months (46 weeks, made up of 26 weeks tuition,20 holidays. ) Courses start every Monday, prior to the start of the course it will be an orientation day for you to know Gold Coast Dice Centre facilities that you can use while study with us. All general classes operates all week apart from public holidays( see term calendar) Cost; See 2017/2018 payment options Ø Payments facilities are available and can be organized with the student officer. Required when rescue certification start: Safety sausage and a Torch Required when Dive Master certification start: Full Gear is highly recommended, it is a college requirement that every student should attain they own personal gear at these course stage as part of your professional development training in conjunction with learning on how to look after it, be familiar with all equipment that will maintain you underwater at all times. Each individual student will have the choice to select the well- priced package at student s rates Exclusions; Any other activity offered by the school for the students in their free time or holidays there will be an extra charge, but it will be at student prices. 3

Difference from other schools; All students will be trained by our own instructor s not by a third party company, all students will received qualifications by our own CEO/Director and Master Instructor. All students will be trained in the school by doing theory in Miami campus, and practical at the pool or at wave break island. Academic Requirements for Gold Coast Dive Centre Courses The minimum academic entry level for courses at Gold Coast Dive Centre is a pass in the Junior High School (Year 10) Certificate or equivalent. All applicants are required to send a Certified and translated copy of their highest Educational qualification to GCDC or its local Agent, before enrolment can take place. English Entry requirements for Overseas Students The minimum English language entry level for courses at Gold Coast Dive Centre is a pass of 5.5 in a recent IELTS Test, (or equivalent test or assessment), with a minimum of 5.0 in each band. TOEFL 550 is an example of an equivalent English test result. All applicants who are non- native Speakers of English are required to send a certified and translated copy of a recent English test to GCDC, (or its local Agent) before enrolment can take place. Important: Make sure you keep copies of your certified Academic and English Language qualifications, as these will also be required by the Australian Embassy when you are applying for your Australian Student Visa. Modes of study: How your course will be delivered: A full description of your course and how and where it will be delivered can be found on our website at www.goldcoastdivecentre.com.au. Basically, it is a mixture of practical diving sessions and theory lessons that continue throughout the course until the outcome has been achieved. A qualified Diving Instructor in a classroom setting delivers classroom theory. Diving instruction at field locations, is delivered by a qualified Diving Instructor in the Pool to start learning confined water skills then the ocean at Wave Break Island to start then in different locations in combination with your training progress Course Assessment: Assessment will be a mixture of written theory tests and examinations in the classroom, plus observation by a qualified instructor on dives. From the combined results of this assessment, students are given a pass or fail mark at the end of each assessment period (10-15 weeks depending on the course) and are expected to achieve a combined 70% score to qualify for an overall pass in the course. Students who register a fail result in any assessment period may be required to re- sit tests and be re- assessed on subsequent dives until they achieve satisfactory progress. Course Outcomes: Full details of structures, timetables, compulsory and elective units and outcomes for all GCDC courses can be found on the GCDC website. 4

Course Credits and Recognized Prior Learning: For safety reasons and because you will be diving as part of a closely-knit team, our program requires that even experienced divers taking the Certificate 3, or Certificate 4 course in Outdoors and Recreation, must participate in all aspects of the course from start to finish. For this reason, course credits and recognition of prior learning will not apply.
