Homecoming 2018 Schedule Monday, October 29 th» Mambo No. 5 Karaoke Dance Party: Homecoming court and Friday concert artist revealed. DJ King Vick will be playing all your favorite 90s hits to kick off Homecoming Week! Come dance and sing karaoke while enjoying finger foods, mocktails, and our photo booth. Don t forget to pick up a homecoming t-shirt! 8 PM in Centennial Hall, 3 rd floor of the Reng Student Union» Door Decorating Contest: Competition between offices of the Student Union. Door decorating begins. Judging will take place Friday, November 2 nd at 10 AM. Reng Student Union Tuesday, October 30 th» Food N the Pantry Food Drive Competition: Donations will benefit A-State Food Pantry. Awards will be given to the organization/individual with most pounds of food donated. Bonus points given to most needed items. 10 AM 3 PM at the Reng Student Union, 1 st Floor» Lip Sync Battle: Event sponsored by St. Jude Up til Dawn. 1 st, 2 nd, and 3 rd place and People s Choice awards will be presented. Winners of food drive competition will be announced. Doors open at 5 PM. 6 PM in Centennial Hall, 3 rd floor of the Reng Student Union Wednesday, October 31 st» 90 s Movie Night: Come out and watch Scream! Popcorn will be provided. 8 PM on Heritage Plaza Lawn Thursday, November 1 st» Yell Like Hell: Spirit competition, bonfire, and food trucks! Come to watch or compete. Food free to A- state students with valid student ID. 1 st, 2 nd, & 3 rd place awards will be presented. Event starts at 6 PM, Competition starts at 7:30 PM at University Loop & Honors Avenue Friday, November 2 nd» A-State Parade: Come out on campus and support A-State student organizations and local businesses! Various awards will be presented. 6 PM in the parking lot of the Baseball Complex» Homecoming Concert: Our final event of the week! Food n the Pantry Information Sheet Tuesday, October 30, 2018 10 AM 3 PM Reng Student Union» Food donations will be accepted from 10 AM to 3 PM on the first floor of the Student Union. Submissions will be recorded at the time of donating.» Points will be given based on weight. Possible bonus points will be awarded for donating most needed items. o 1 point per pound o 2 points per most needed item» Most needed items include: o Canned chicken o Canned tuna o Peanut butter o Jelly o Crackers o Cereal o Canned fruit o Soup o Pasta o Mac & cheese» You may choose to donate as an individual or on behalf of a registered student organization.» The organization who donates the most pounds of food will win an award.» Individuals who donate to the food drive will be entered to win an A-State prize pack.» Winners of the food drive competition will be announced at the Lip Sync Battle on Tuesday, October 30 th. Lip Sync Battle Registration Form Tuesday, October 30, 2018 6 PM Centennial Hall» Please have registration form turned in to the Leadership center by Monday, October 15, 2018 at 5 PM.» Please make plans to attend one of the mandatory homecoming participant meetings on either October 16 th or 17 th in the Arkansas River Room.» Music must be turned in to the Leadership Center by October 22, 2018 at 5 PM and must be provided on a flash drive in.mp3 format. Please refrain from using explicit lyrics.» All competitors must be at Centennial Hall ready to perform by 5:30 PM. Failure to have all members present at this time may result in loss of points.» Judging will be based on creativity, overall appeal, adherence to theme, and time. Costumes and props highly encouraged.» People s Choice Award will be based on monetary donation. All proceeds benefit St. Jude Up til Dawn. The organization or individual with the most monetary donations will be named People s Choice Award winner. Cash or check is accepted.» Performances should be no longer than 4 minutes in length. Judging will take place on Friday, November 2, 2018 at 10 AM.» Judging will be based on creativity, adherence to theme, and school spirit. Yell Like Hell Registration Form Thursday, November 1, 2018 6 PM University Loop & Honors Avenue (Grassy area beside Sigma Pi)» Please have registration form turned in to the Leadership Center by Monday, October 15, 2018 at 5 PM.» Please make plans to attend one of the mandatory homecoming participant meetings on either October 16 th or 17 th in the Arkansas River Room.» All competing teams must be present at 7:15 PM. Failure to show up on time may result in loss of points. Participants will draw for order of performance. Performances will begin approximately at 7:30 PM.» Performances should be no longer than 3 minutes.» Silly string and confetti will not be permitted to use during your performance. If you have questions about permissible items, please contact the Leadership Center or Ali Tran.» Judging will be based on school spirit, creativity, overall appeal, adherence to theme, and time. A-State Parade Registration Form Friday, November 2, 2018 6:00 PM A-State Campus» Please have registration form turned in to the Leadership Center by Monday, October 15, 2018 at 5 PM.» Please make plans to attend one of the mandatory homecoming participant meetings on either October 16 th or 17 th in the Arkansas River Room.» Floats should be in the parking lot of the Baseball Complex as marked on the Parade Route map by 5:00 PM. Parade will begin approximately at 6 PM.» Judging will be based on creativity, appearance, school spirit, and adherence to theme.» Note: We want this parade to get not only students but the whole Jonesboro community excited! We encourage you to have music, to have plenty of school spirit, and to go all out on your float!» Participation in the parade is not limited to floats. You may walk or decorate your vehicle.
