2014 SSCC OFFICERS President: Dick Calhoun (541) 899-8941 Secretary: Kim Neal (541) 531-1892 Treasurer: Cari Hinesly (541) 890-2113 Publicity: Andrew VanBortel (585) 857-3306 Competition Directors: John Ray (541) 531-1276 Jared Haaland (541) 301-6219 Technical Inspectors: Darrell Parham (530) 905-2595 Calen Ray (541) 531-1276 Board Members At Large Larry Nelson (541) 862-9141 Jim Cox (541) 601-0182 Tom McDaniel (310) 766-7599 EDITOR S NOTES Another successful season of the Rogue Challenge Series comes to a finish, our 40th consecutive!! Of course, the club has been running events since the 50 s but the Series started with the new track, in 1975. Hope to see you at the Fall Enduro. There is a lot of time for practice runs and catching up on visiting with friends who mainly just come to the Enduros. If you are new to an Enduro event, take note that it is one price for the whole weekend. There are no daily prices, like other events. Also, everyone is invited to the banquet Saturday evening. You do not need to be a class champion to attend. Reservations need to be made by Tues. Sept. 30. Call or email me if you have not entered the event but want to go to the dinner. Cari Hinesly (541) 890-2113 hineslyc@hughes.net Siskiyou Summits CLUB NOTES Thanks Thanks to all who worked and ran in the September autocross, event #7. It was a nice weekend - being our third in a row of hot temps but not into the triple digits. After running on this track for 40 years, this was a first - starting on the usual exit and exiting on the usual entrance. It was a concern using the blacktop for the launch when the concrete was laid a few years ago, specifically for that purpose. But, with such few cars and being a one-time-thing, it was decided to do this different procedure. Again, it was a fun course!! It s hard not to have a fun course on this track. Just being out there pushing hard (safely & legally) and testing driver skill, makes it fun with all courses!! Awards are presented at the awards banquet on Saturday evening during the Enduro weekend, Oct. 4, so plan on making it to that event. Don t wait until the last minute to send the Enduro entry in, because it fills up most years. As of Sun. 9/21, we have 57 entrants!! On the entry, you need to mark your choice for a practice session (Fri. afternoon A, Saturday morning B, or Sat. afternoon C). Then, mark your choice of run groups for Sunday. Be sure to put a 2nd choice in case your first choice is full.

Fall Enduro cont. The banquet has always had a fantastic meal, so do include that for your weekend. If you have participated in 4 or more events in the Series, SSCC will pay for your dinner. Note how to mark it on the entry form. Included in this issue is a sheet with the point standings for participants with 4 or more events this season. Also, members are asked to bring articles for door prizes at the banquet. They can be items donated by businesses (will be listed in the newsletter), or donations from anyone. 2014 Rogue Challenge Series (RCS) Champions AM Dave Kipperman Homebuilt Brockerman DM Randy Grubb 02 Birkin Seven EM Larry Nelson '10 Stalker Super XP Doug Batt 95 Mazda Miata DP John Ray 68 Datsun Roadster 1600 EP Andy Jossy 72 Fiat 128 SM Bill Abernethy 99 Mitsu Eclipse OSPU Andrew VanBortel 03 Honda S2000 BSP Sean Brown 99 BMW M3 CSP Terry Hinesly 02 Mazda Miata DSP Cody Casson 08 Subaru Impreza WRX FSP Seth Ranney 06 Scion TC STF Robert Harper 05 Honda Civic Si STC Darrell Parham 97 Saturn SC2 STX Jack VanWettering 13 Subaru BRZ STU Jason Middlebrook 11 Subaru Impreza STi SS Tom McDaniel 02 Corvette Z06 FS Mike Strande 13 BMW M3 Autocross Club of Central Oregon Shootout This car club sponsors the Oregon Shootout each year. This year it is on Oct. 11-12. Each class champion and 2nd place winner from 4 Oregon clubs are invited to this event. Over the 2 days, you get 4 runs on 4 different courses.- that s 16 runs!! The times of the four courses are combined and then multiplied by the PAX, based upon the car s category and class. The driver with the lowest overall PAX time gains bragging rights as the Top Dawg & Quick Chick of Oregon Entry is $50. The location of this event is I-5 exit #182 - Bald Knob Lumber Site, 33662 E. Park Dr., Creswell, OR. Pre-registration is required, however, it will not pull up on the website, so you would need to call Jack at 541-350-5458. You can pay at the track. Many of our SSCC members have gone in the past and rave about how fun this event is! Contack Larry Nelson if you want more infomation (541-862-9141) Jan s Foods We have been enjoying the delicious cheese steak sandwiches, burgers and Polish dogs Jan has for lunch at the track lately.
