2018 Winchester Futurity & Cattle Baron Sale Welcome to this years production of the Winchester Futurity & Cattle Baron s Premier Longhorn Sale. Thank you to our consignors, sponsors, staff and volunteers. It takes a lot of help to put this weekend together and we appreciate everyone that helped make it happen. We hope that everyone accomplishes their goals (selling, buying and competing) this weekend and has safe travels to and from our event. Friday morning there will be breakfast tacos and donuts with coffee to get you ready for the start of the Winchester Futurity. The Futurity Awards will be at the Wilhite s Social starting right after the Futurity s conclusion. Saturday morning the donuts and coffee will be out before the sale and $10 Bar B Q lunches will be available during the sale. We will have and appreciate the help of students (involved in showing cattle) to serve meals and drinks during the event. Our sale format will start with assorted age heifers from lot 1-19A, then a good set of premium cattle from lots 20-36. Our featured twisty horn cattle will fill the bulk of our sale from lots 37-88. These are not the only twisty horn cattle in our sale, but it is the bulk of them. Saving some of the best cattle for last, lots 89-102 will conclude our sale with another great set of premium cattle. Did I say there will be an open bar through out the sale, just did. Sale Staff - Steve Azinger is your Sale Chairman. Brent Bolen is your Futurity Chairman. Stephen Head will be our commentator Friday. Joel Lemley & Troy Robinette will be selling the cattle on Saturday and Hired Hand Live will be manning (figure of speak) the On-Line Sales. This team has served all of us well in past events and gives us excellent service and ample opportunities in buying and selling our cattle. Shirley Lemley usually has the transfers finished on Monday after the sale. Donnie Taylor and his crew will be handling the futurity and sale cattle. Every organization, committee or team has a few people on their staff that are the catalyst, energy, know how and glue that really makes all of it come together and function for everyone involved. The TLBGCA has been blessed with more than our share of special members. I don t have space to name them all, but if you know any of the Azingers, Bolens, Burtons, Carpenters, Heads, Stocktons, Wilhites or Woolies you certainly know who and what I am referring to. A special thank you for all of these folks for their donations, cattle, hunts and time that have kept us going. I got a big kick out of donation lot 88A (a weekend of looking at cattle, drinking and making tamales) with the Azingers & Bolens. This could possibly the best weekend you have ever spent towards the cattle business and fellowship with great people. This is going to be a stellar weekend for someone. I know it s a safe bet, but I am going to make it anyway. If you are fortunate enough to out bid me and get to enjoy this donated weekend, I will refund your money if you don t think it s money well spent. Transit cattle are welcome. We have space, water and hay for them and we will provide it for no charge. We are very fortunate to live in a country where we can have a vote, worship and believe in the things we choose.
