Volume 51 - Issue 4 April, 2017 Air Capital Corvette Club Newsletter Message from the Prez... Spring has sprung! What a great time for a Corvette ride. The trees are budding, the flowers are blooming, the grass is turning green and the birds are returning from the south. April dates to remember 4/1 April Fool s Day (& Mikie s Birthday) 4/9 Palm Sunday 4/14 Good Friday 4/16 Easter Sunday 4/18 Tax Day 4/22 Earth Day 4/26 Administrative Professionals Day 4/28 Arbor Day Last month, for the March drive and eat, Glen and Cristy Bailey took us to the Bread Basket in Newton. We enjoyed a wonderful breakfast buffet. We had a great turnout between 15 to 20 Corvettes and the weather was perfect. Thank you Glen and Cristy! St Patrick s Day was pretty chilly. There were around 10 Corvettes in the parade. It was a good time to get acquainted with our Veterans. I heard that it is one of the longest parades that Wichita has in the Delano district. Cars & Coffee was a little crisp, but the parking lot was full with a wide variety of makes, models, colors and styles. Look for the Friday night car show to start up soon at Central and West Street beginning at 6:00 pm every Friday night through the fall. It s a good time to come out and visit with friends, listen to our generation of music, see a nice display of cars and enjoy the evening. Once again, if you have any ideas for club events or places to go, please share them with me or an E-Board member. See you at the next club meeting on April 5th at Davis-Moore. Deb Schmitz ACCC President Page 1

April, 2017 Volume 51 - Issue 4 Minutes from the March 15, 2017 ACCC E-Board Meeting The March Eboard Meeting was held at Kent Michael s shop. Preston is to send the approved Revision A of the bylaws to Kent for publishing on the club website. Bob reported there are 88 paid renewals/memberships for 2017. A suggestion was discussed to only allow a person to win only one door prize per year in order to let more have a chance to win. It was also suggested we have only one door prize at each meeting to eliminate wasting time on making choices. Bank balance reported at $2,820.65. Linda reported the following standings in club points: 1st-Glen and Cristi Bailey 2nd-Doug and Mary Mehl 3rd-Tie Barb and Dale Brotton Preston Hughes Kerry Unrein Deb presented the finished business cards to the board. Everyone approved of the design. A Member Life Events topic will be added to the Business Meeting agenda to report on just that. Kent will send out a revised shirt and name tag order form and include it in the newsletter. Deb reported that Marvin Soliah will read a poem he wrote about the Corvette generations at the next Business Meeting. It was decided not to publish it in the newsletter so as not to reveal it before the meeting. A suggestion was made to ask the club to vote on making the Veteran s Day and any Vettes 4 Vets parade activity club points events. The next Eboard meeting is April 19 at Kent Michael s shop. Respectively submitted, Preston Hughes, Secretary Page 4
