Chris brought in 3 keepers while Andi showed up everyone with her 7.91 lb BUCKET MOUTH and Big Bass of the Tournament. They weighed in a total of 4 fish at 10.82 pounds. All fish were caught on a Twitch Stick and X-Rap. First Place payout was $282. Hawg Hawlers 2013 Season is off to a great start. There were 28 boats brought in a total of 76 fish. It was great seeing familiar faces and meeting new members. It was a very nice day to fish even though it was cloudy and overcast most of the day with temps reaching the mid 50s and dropping slowly as the day progressed. Water temps ranged from 44-54 degrees depending on where you were on the lake. The water was heavily stained in Webb Creek but cleared as you got closer to the river. The lake level was normal winter pool at 494 feet. A HUGE thank you goes out to the great folks at Clearwater Marina. The coffee and Donuts were delicious! A BIG THANK YOU TO THE FOLKS AT CLEARWATER MARINA!!!

BIG BASS... Clearwater cont. Andi Himstedt bested everyone with her 7.91 lb HAWG. With this fish, she holds the 2nd biggest fish in club history and is accepting challengers for Big Bass of the Year. She hooked this beauty on an X-Rap. Big Bass payout was $75 and Side Pot was &135. This is Andi s 5th tournament in 3 years, but the FIRST fish she s ever weighed in. Congratulations Andi! March 2013 A HOOK from our President... With fair weather, we got to see what this club is all about. Father and daughter team Chris and Andi Himstedt took first place at our first tournament of the season. Not only did they take home the first place prize, but Andi got to weigh in her first ever tournament fish, and what a fish. The monster weighed in at 7.91 pounds. Don t know who was prouder, Dad or Andi. Way to go Andi! Family experiences like this is what this club is all about. Be it father and daughter or son, aunts and nephews or husband and wife, the landing of big bass or, time together is more like landing memories...it s worth more than any check you could ever take. HH at Cabela s... On March 17, a few Hawg Hawlers volunteered to stand watch at our table during Cabela s Spring Event to promote our club by handing out club info and selling raffle tickets. Hopefully, we can generate a few new or returning members to join us this year for the fun. A special thank you to PamWakim, Ken Jones and Chris Himstedt for donating their time. When and Where... Our next tournament is April 6-7 at Lake of the Ozarks. We will be taking off out of Red Oak Resort. (573-873-9400) Tournament hours are 6:30 am - 2:30 pm on Saturday and 6:30 am - 12:30pm on Sunday. Tournament Directors Saturday - Himstedt/Miller and Sunday - Chandler/Chandler. Directions... To Red Oak Resort - From Interstate 44: Take I-44 at the Highway 133 exit (Richland). Go North on Highway 133 until you reach the Highway 7 junction. Take Highway Y7 North until it ends at Highway 5. Travel North on Highway 5. You will pass through Camdenton and cross over the Niangua Bridge. After crossing the Niangua Bridge, you will find Lake Road 5-65 on your right. Red Oak Resort is located approximately 1/8 mile from the Highway 5 Lake Road 5-65. From Interstate 70: Exit I-70 at the Highway 54 South exit (Kingdom City). Follow Highway 54 South until you reach the Highway 5 junction at Camdenton. Travel North on Highway 5. You will pass through Camdenton and cross over the Niangua Bridge. After crossing the Niangua Bridge, you will find Lake Road 5-65 on your right. Red Oak Resort is located approximately 1/8 mile from the Highway 5 Lake Road 5-65. Next Tourney...LOZ Special Events... Our special event for Lake of the Ozark Tournament is a Friday Night Big Bass Bash! This is JUST FOR FUN, and an option that anyone fishing in the LOZ tournament can enter. The cost is $10 per boat (1-2 member teams) with 100% PAYOUT to the team with the biggest bass weighed in. The Big Bass tournament hours will be from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm on FRIDAY. If you plan to fish the Friday night BIG BASH, you can sent your entry fee along with your LOZ tournament entry form and entry fee. Just add the $10 entry fee and mark on your entry form that it is for the FRIDAY NIGHT BIG BASS BASH. Payment will also be accepted at the lake prior to takeoff on Friday night. ANNUAL RULES 1. Entry fee is a $110 per boat and includes entry in a $10 Big Bass pot. (all boats/ boaters included in Big Bass pot with paid entry fee) 2. All Federal, State, and Local laws must be obeyed. 3. Fishing hours are 6:30-3:30 (or safe light) 4. Only Large mouth, Small mouth, and Kentucky spotted bass may be weighed in. 5. All fishing will be done with a casting or spin casting tackle. Only artificial bait may be used. Participants may only use ONE rod at a time may be used. Trolling is NOT permitted. 6. All contestants must leave by boat and return by boat and only fish waters accessible by boat. No fishing above the hwy 67 bridge. 7. Departure flights will be determined by the date entries are received. 8. Entries will be accepted up to the official start time. ALL FISH WILL BE WEIGHED AT CHAONIA LANDING. Each team must be in Chaonia Landing Cove by designated stop time or one (1) pound per minute late penalty will be deducted. After 15 minutes, team will be disqualified. 9. Simple rules of sportsmanship will be in effect at all times. If you would not want it done to you, don t do it to another fisherman. Forms will be available at the weigh-in site for those who would like to file a complaint against another fisherman for unsportsmanlike conduct. Complaints must be in writing, signed, and turned in to the Tournament Committee BEFORE the weigh-in is completed. Tournament Committee will have the final ruling. 10. Fish must be at least 12 long. (a flat board will be used) Only five (5) fish will Buddy Bass Tourney BUDDY BASS TOURNAMENT APRIL, 13 2013 CHAONIA LANDING - WAPPAPELLO LAKE BIG BASS PAYOUT - 100% be weighed. A dead fish penalty of 1/4 pound per dead fish will be deducted from teams total weight. Any bass under 12 will be removed from stringer and one (1) pound per short fish will be deducted from teams total weight. 11. Ties for total weight will be broken by the biggest bass from each team s stringer. Ties for biggest bass will be broken by team s total weight. 12. All contestants may be subject to a POLYGRAPH TEST OR VOICE STRESS ANALYSIS. Top winners must pass the test or lose their claim to the purse! Random testing may be conducted. 13. The Tournament Committee reserves the right to accept or reject any contestant s application and make the final decision regarding participation in the tournament. 14. Any contestant under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. 15. It is prohibited for any participant to hire or use the service of a licensed guide for the purpose of locating bass and/or fishing spots for a period of three (3) days prior to this tournament. 16. Big Bass Payout: 1st-50%, 2nd-30%, 3rd-20%. Only one (1) Big Bass per stringer. Big Bass entry is included in paid $110 entry fee and is a 100% payback. 17. No Pontoon or Barge type craft will be permitted. All boats must have aerated and working live wells. 18.
