Hi All, FROM OUR CHAIRMAN Our November all tackle comp is quickly approaching, fantastic effort from the form the tournament committee as always, let s hope the fish do the same thing... So sort out the teams. As it was last year it will be the first entry into all ports for QGFA with the second event to be held in conjunction with the Aussie day tournament. Let s repeat last year s effort! The SCFC spring shoot out has been run and won, congrats to Site Office for taking it out and all the teams involved, great tournament yet again but not too many fish around, hard work for only a few billy s. Thanks to Noel + Lyn Day, Nikki and Mark Rose for attending the ASNA 50 th anniversary in CNS last month, will be a full report at the meeting - Beau Rose took home a heap of silverware again so I m sure we ll hear all about it too. Always looking for sponsors so if you can or know of anyone please let the committee know. Massive exposure and as always well supported by all members. Looking forward to catching up with everyone at the meeting and the BBQ. Keep a bend in it. Greg (Skinny) 3

Club Captains Report Sunshine Coast Game fishing club ran their Spring shoot out last weekend with only a few billfish tagged. Heavy tackle fish were not in great numbers but still around. There was some sailfish tagged so might be a good time to venture up that way to try and tag some sailfish, there was also a nice 62.5 kg Yellowfin Tuna caught heavy tackle. Our RATT is getting closer and with a very nice Simrad sounder up for grabs for a lucky angler prize and Reelax tuna tubes and $200 for early entry, think about getting your teams ready for the comp. Still plenty of reef fish around with goods numbers of Snapper and Pearlies being caught. All the dams have been fishing well with the Bass and golden Perch going off and worth the trip. We are going to be running a casting competition for anyone who is interested at the next club weigh in weather permitting, so better get some practice in, prizes for the winners. Noel 6

Weigh Master s Report - September Another great Club Barbeque afternoon for September, with warm and sunny weather although a bit windy. The snags went quickly and we had a few new faces turn up, great to see. It was great to see a good turnout of our regular members and we had a few fish to weigh in. A few Snapper were caught and it was Mark Rose who caught the biggest at a bit over 1Kg. Mark picks up the Jackpot of $350 for his Snapper. A few Diver Whiting were weighed in as well. Once again it was Mark who took the money. A few of our anglers headed up to the Sunny Coast for the Sunshine Coast Tournament, it will be interesting to see what was caught, might give us a few ideas for the upcoming RATT in November. Next month (October) our species are Cobia and Javelin fish, the money will be back to $50. Don t let that stop you though get out there and enjoy the warmer weather. I hope you bring in heaps of fish for the October weigh-in. Cheers. Ralph Bowler 7

To win the money for the monthly nominated fish inshore or offshore species, simply weigh in the heaviest Cobia or Javelin. All fish weighed, regardless of whether they are in for the fish of the month must be labelled with the angler s name and line class. To receive double club points, fish must be tagged or caught on the Club Weekend only and the cards correctly completed and handed in or fish weighed in at M.B.B.C. from 3.30pm to 4.30pm on the Sunday. Prizes for the heaviest fish of the month will be awarded at the following club night. Remember, club fishing weekend starts on midnight on Friday 13th October, finishing on Sunday 15th October with a weigh-in and barbeque at 3.30-4.30pm. This month s species are Cobia and Javelin. The next Club Meeting will be held on Monday 9 th October at 7.30pm at the MBBC. 9

A.N.S.A News Noel Day, Mark Rose and their families travelled to cairns recently to attend the ANSA 50 year anniversary and QLD state conference and awards dinner. The 2 day celebration and expo was fantastic with many clubs around the state participating with stalls ranging from the history of fishing rods, boat set ups, lure making, knot demos, fisheries info and the casting comp held by RPGSC. Many presentations were held by clubs and guest speakers, even the ghosts of fishing past, present and future made an appearance. At the awards dinner we saw Bundaberg take out champion club. We also saw our very own Beau Rose take out champion sub junior and lots more winners taking out very prestigious annual awards. Every one had a great time and it was announced that Bundaberg will be holding the 2018 state wide conference from the 28 th September to 1 st of October. 11

Ghosts of fishing past, present and future Hope Royle won the early entry prize donated by RPGSC 12

Beau Britton won a rod and reel combo in the casting comp with a perfect score of 50 points in the grand finals 13
