Editor Corner: Before I start running my mouth, I received an email requesting the following information be included in this month s newsletter. Well here it is almost May and I for one would love to see the sun a little more often. I cut my grass this last Thursday leaving lawnmower tire tracks all over it. I am sure a lot of you would be taking the classic out a little more if it weren t for the rain. On the back of page 3 you will find a reprint of events that Don and Gail put together earlier this year. If you have anything you would like included in the newsletter (stories, for sale, etc.), please email it to strayangelsnews@gmail.com. When putting the newsletter together, I work from that email address. Stray Angels T-Shirts Purple t-shirts Following the May Stray Angels meeting, we will be placing an order for purple t- shirts. Answer: No. Designed by famed GM designer Harley Earl, the first Chevrolet Corvette, appeared in 1953, equipped with an inline 6-cylinder engine, labeled the Blue Flame. Only after the insistence of Zora Arkus Duntov, The Father of the Corvette did the 1955 model receive a 265ci V8 engine. From this point-on, America s sportscar would never be powered by anything less than a V8.
