LOCAL COMMUNITY LOCAL COMMUNITY Anti Social Behaviour Update... 6 Youths in the Alford area have been issued with formal Police and Council Warnings after a series of incidents that they were involved in. These formal warnings are the first steps that are used towards an Anti Social Behaviour Order. More commonly known as an ASBO. Crime Detection in Alford. Persons have been identified and dealt with for breaking into an out building of a day centre in Alford where items were stolen. The property has been recovered and handed back to the centre. Bad Weather. Lincolnshire s coast along with the rest of the UK has seen its fair share or bad weather, Strong winds and local flooding. The beat teams would like to thank local people that have helped out the emergency services with moving fallen trees and thinking of their neighbours. We are still being forecast some more bad weather and would like to remind everyone to take precautions. Have some candles matches, fresh batteries and torches accessible in case of power cuts. Keep some fresh water in stock and also some good warm blankets. Cold Winters Nights. The cold Winter is starting to arrive. Theft of heating oil can be an issue at this time of year and can be expensive to replace. Ensure your tank is kept secure and you make regular checks on its levels. PC 1379 AMES is handing the Beat back to PC 907 WAYTE. This will be a 3-4 week process and both beat Managers will be available if needed during this time. (Wainfleet, Bourgh, Skegness, Ingoldmells, Chapel, Alford & Mablethorpe The coastal overall crime rate has remained in positive exception at -1.9%, resulting from -20 fewer offences YTD. Lincolnshire Police are looking to recruit 1000 new volunteers for a wide range of roles including Volunteer Town Enquiry Officers to help keep Police stations open longer and more often. Operation Blackwater. Lincolnshire Police targeted the FATAL FOUR These are speed, mobile phone use, drink/drug driving and seatbelts. In an effort to make the roads of Lincolnshire safer for all especially over the Christmas and New Year period. Figures are still being added up but over all this years campaign has been very successful. The Teams locally have been using static sites along the coast to conduct random stop checks in an effort to highlight the effect that breaking the FATAL FOUR has on both the driver and also everyone else. PEGASUS is a database that helps people with disabilities make contact with Lincolnshire Police. The database contains details provided by people who have registered with the force because their disability makes it difficult for them to give spoken details when calling the police. When a person registers with Pegasus they are issued with a personal identification number (PIN) they can use when contacting the police by telephone or in person. On initial contact the person only needs to say Pegasus and their PIN number. The police call handler can then access the details from the database relating to that person. This helps to stop the caller having to spend valuable time trying to give personal details. The information on the database will also help the police to understand any barriers to communication and give suitable assistance. Lincolnshire Police are committed to providing the best possible service to everyone including people with communication difficulties caused by physical or learning disabilities, and or illness. A database is being piloted by Lincolnshire Police to make the initial phase of contacting them either by phone or in person easier. Registering for the Pegasus scheme is free and the information is held in a secure environment. It is not shared with any other organisation. If you are interested in working with Lincolnshire Police we would encourage you to contact Lincolnshire Police on 101 and ask to speak to the Volunteer recruitment team.
