2 MEET YOUR LOCAL NEIGHBOURHOOD POLICING TEAM This is a double newsletter with the figures and comments for June and July 2014 During this period there were several successful events including the Winterton Show and a nostalgic World War Commemoration Event. Both went off without incident and were well attended. Globally there was the World Cup where again there were very few public order problems possibly assisted by England s performance! Events coming up are Remembrance Sunday on 9 th November commemorating One hundred Years since the outbreak of the First World War and the Winteringham Music Festival on Friday 3 rd September All the above show the lively community spirit in your Neighbourhood. PS Dave Burton. Monthly Message from your local Neighbourhood Team: Dear Resident Noted below is a review of reported crimes in the Burton upon Stather and Winterton Ward area. This list will not show all the calls for service which your local team attended, but it does provide a snapshot of the crimes reported from the public. We shall endeavour to ensure that reports are as up to date as possible but they do depend upon when they were actually reported and the dates the crimes occurred. There is also a little more information on the re-occurring crimes. There were 29 reported crimes in the Burton upon Stather & Winterton Ward for June which is an increase from May where there were 14 Violence towards the person - 3 Theft (including shop theft) - 10 Theft from a motor vehicle (including vehicle other than a motor vehicle) - 5 Criminal damage - 3 Burglary other than a dwelling 4 Fraud - 1 Hate Crime and breach of non-molestation order - 3 File classification: - NO DESCRIPTOR
3 There were 19 reported crimes in the Burton upon Stather & Winterton Ward for July which is a decrease from June where there were 29. Violence against the person 5 Criminal damage 3 Theft (including shop theft) 3 Burglary in a dwelling 3 Burglary non dwelling 1 Theft from a motor vehicle (including interference) - 4 Winterton Violence against the person = June 2 and July - 4 Theft (including shop theft) = June 3 and July - 2 Criminal damage = June 3 and July - 2 Theft from a motor vehicle = June -1 and none in July Burglary none dwelling = June 4 and July 1 Burglary in a dwelling none in June and July - 1 Fraud = June -1 and none in July Breach of non-molestation order = June 1 and none for July From the above the violence against the person refers to minor domestic related and family issues and where a UPVC door was also damaged in connection to one of the thefts. The thefts refer to two mobile phones stolen, a theft where cash was taken and a theft from the co-op. Criminal damages occurred to two vehicles, one parked at Winterton Rangers grounds and one in the vicinity of Teanby Drive. The non dwelling burglaries refer to several shed burglaries on the allotments. Local officers are monitoring the area. Flixborough Theft = June 2 and July 1 Theft from a motor vehicle none for June and July 1 Burglary in a dwelling none for June and July 1 Criminal Damage none for June and July - 1 The thefts relate to two businesses on the Flixborough Industrial estate whereby a diesel theft occurred to a transport company and electrical equipment and cast was taken from another. The criminal damage refers to a vehicle parked on the industrial estate. There also appears to be others thefts of diesel reported in this area mainly from commercial premises. Officers are patrolling the area and making enquiries but anyone with any information please contact your local team. Burton upon Stather Theft = June -2 and none for July Burglary in a dwelling none for June and July 1 File classification: - NO DESCRIPTOR
4 The burglary refers to an isolated incident where a laptop, ipad and digital camera where stolen. The two thefts relate to a garden bench and a set of wooden steps. Winteringham Violence against the person = June 1 Breach of non-molestation order = June 2 Theft = June 2 Theft from a vehicle other than a motor vehicle = June -1 There was a report of a minor family domestic related assault. The two thefts in June relate to two separate incidents where unknown persons attempt to take an outboard motor for a boat and succeed to steal another on a separate occasion. The incident occurred at the local yacht club. Please note: there were no crimes reported in Winteringham for July. Thealby Theft from a motor vehicle = June 1 This relates to a diesel theft from a transport company. Please note: there were no crimes reported in Thealby for July Scunthorpe including Normanby area Theft from a motor vehicle (including interference) = June 2 and July - 3 Theft (dwelling) = June -1 and none for July During June and July two diesel thefts occurred overnight on two separate occasions and attempt thefts of diesel and damage to fuel caps also occurred overnight to lorries parked in a lorry park. Officers will monitor the areas. The dwelling theft relates to a family incident whereby cash was stolen from a caravan park. Alkborough Violence against the person none for June and July - 1 This relates to a minor assaults between two parties. Local officers have been responding to calls for service regarding noisy motor bikes and vehicles around West Street Park and we will continue to monitor. The provision of further local youth facilities has been discussed with the Local Authority, the Youth Service and Safer Neighbourhoods. There have also been several reports of ASB (Anti-social behaviour) in the area of Winterton Junior School. Youths have been spoken to and advised and the local policing team are currently patrolling the area and will deal with any ASB issues that are raised. File classification: - NO DESCRIPTOR
