CAVANAGH UPDATE At last an end date for the re-surface early next week! When complete there will be a hybrid surface with permanent line-marking for hockey, volleyball and tennis. All posts will be removable. We still need to resolve fencing issues but hope that we can tap in to some grants to help fund improvements there. I for one am looking forward to having a run on the new surface. SUMMER HOCKEY at THE PONDS This summer KLHC has run a summer hockey programme at The Ponds a first for the area it has been received well by those who took up the opportunity to play. With 35 players registering, 22 of whom were new to the sport KLHC is hoping to gain a few new recruits for its 2016 winter season. A big thank you goes to Bish for coaching on behalf of KLHC over the summer. He brought a wealth of experience to the programme which was appreciated by all involved.

2015 PRESENTATION DAY and AGM A big thank you to those of you who were able to come along to KLHC s Presentation Day and AGM. Thanks too to Mark for facilitating the use of the church hall. Apologies re the postponement. We ll certainly take the prospect of wet weather in to consideration when considering the venue for next year s event. In all I think we had about 60 in attendance for the award presentations. A big thanks goes to Kate once again for creating certificates and organising awards. The 2015 Award Winners Are; Team Player s Player Coach s Award NAJHA Encouragement NAJHA Encouragement U11C Gurmann Pawar & Bethany Thomas Tanveer SIngh Mitchell Jachimowicz Lucy D'Silva U13B Andrew Phelps Joshua Thomas Andrew Suhaili Ishaan Rajpal U15B Tyson Smith & Skye Vanajek Harneet Singh Elias Williamson Paige Collison Men s Lucas Baird Tim Malin N/A N/A NAJHA Umpire Encouragement Andrew Phelps and Jaidii Freeman Junior Player of the Year; Bethany Thomas Bethany played in both U11s and U13s qualifying for finals in both teams. She was selected by her team mates as a recipient of the U11 Players Player Award. In addition to her on field commitment to the club she was always on hand at KLHC s fundraising and promotional events with a smile on her face and a preparedness to help wherever she could. Senior Player of the Year; Lucas Baird Lucas like Bethany was also voted Players Player award recipient by his team; KLHC s first Men s side. He played every game, turned up to almost every training session, worked hard in whatever position he was asked to play and was a continual source of encouragement for his team mates. He again took on the goalkeeping role as the season neared its final stages and did a fantastic job, receiving accolades aplenty from opposition teams.

President s Trophy Recipient; Christina Thomas Christina started the season as the U11s off field manager. When asked if she d consider filling a vacancy on the committee she subsequently took on the role of assistant secretary ensuring minutes were kept and meeting notices distributed. In addition to this Christina made time to help out at KLHC s fundraising and promotional events and wherever else she could. Club Person of the Year; Mark Williamson Mark first stepped up to have a go at umpiring in 2009. Since then he has committed himself to umpiring both blowing games himself and more recently helping with the creation of a development pathway for KLHC s umpires. Additionally he has created an umpire recruitment brochure and also taken on the role of allocating umpires to games. Congratulations Everyone KLHC s AGM was held immediately following Presentation. At the AGM KLHC s Annual Report was presented and KLHC s 2016 Committee elected. The 2016 Committee is; President Treasurer-Simon Deduhin Secretary-Lyn O Reilly Committee Members-Jo Baird, Randolph Jachimowicz (Jacko), Kate McGuiness and Lynda Simon Thank you to our 2016 Committee Members. As you can see the President s role remains vacant at this stage with Kate having stepped down after 4 years in that role. On behalf of the Club I d like to thank Kate for her input in to the Club over that period. She has been a backbone of the club managing teams, umpiring, co-ordinating fundraising activities and presentations, attending meetings and providing sound reasoning and advice. Her knowledge and experience will remain on the committee for a bit longer with is a wonderful thing. Hopefully we ll get a few new faces on the committee while Kate is still there so that they have the opportunity to gain from her knowledge and experience. A copy of the 2016 Annual Report will be placed on KLHC s website.
