All entrants must have read and be familiar with the Colorado State Fair General Terms and Conditions, General Livestock Competition Requirements and Health Requirements. When applicable, all association rules shall apply. 2. All entrants for livestock exhibited in Open Breed or Market competitions shall provide a valid premises identification number at the time of entry. 3. There will be no outside bedding allowed on the State Fairgrounds. The Colorado State Fair Management is making it mandatory for all exhibitors to purchase their animal bedding through the Colorado State Fair Feed/Bedding Concessionaire. If you choose to violate this competition requirement and bring your own bedding, you will be asked to remove it from the grounds immediately. This rule will be strictly enforced by the Colorado State Fair Management. 4. All bulls born before January 1, 2018 must show with a nose lead. In the interest of safety to exhibitors and spectators, a bull over one year of age without a ring in his nose will be excluded from exhibition at the discretion of the Colorado State Fair and the show representative. The right to disqualify any animal from the show deemed unmanageable is reserved by the show committee. 5. Entry fee will be $25.00 per head with $10.00 per head returned to the American Aberdeen Angus Association. All entries must be done online. All Canadian and International exhibitors must pay all entry fees in U.S. funds. 6. All animals must be recorded in the name of the exhibitor prior to July 1 st of the current year. Copies of registration papers must be included with entries. Entries that do not have registration papers will be rejected. Exhibitors must have the original registration certificate on each animal available for inspection at the show. There will be a Fullblood show and a Percentage/Purebred show. 7. The American Aberdeen Angus Association offers 25% of the total premiums including Champion classes. The Colorado State Fair will pay 75% of premiums, including Champion classes. The total combined premiums shown below are paid directly by the Colorado State Fair.

8. Cattle must be entered and exhibited under the recorded ownership at the time of the show entry deadline. Jointly owned animals must be entered and shown under the multiownership (all co-owners) in the individual classes. 9. All animals must be properly tattooed, including herd prefix, and will be inspected at the show. Tattoo must be legible and must match registration papers. 10. Exhibitors in these breeding cattle classes are subject their association s special rules on class qualification, defect and unethical practices. All animals must be officially recorded at show time to be eligible to show. Any deviation will be just cause for immediate disqualification from the show. 11. All animals will be at ringside one class ahead of the class in which they are to show. Females will be judged first starting with the youngest class. Animals will enter the ring starting with the oldest first. Any animal not at ringside when its class enters the ring will be scratched from that class. 12. All females born before January 1, 2016 must be shown with a calf at side. All females born January 1, 2017 to April 30, 2018 must be accompanied by a verification of pregnancy signed by a licensed veterinarian. Exception to the rule of safe in calf will apply to: a. A donor female that has produced fertile eggs in the previous twelve (12) months as verified in a written statement from a licensed veterinarian; or b. Females shown with calf at side. Calf at side in cow/calf classes must not be born before May 1, 2018 and must be her natural born calf (not an embryo calf born to another recipient). 13. Ownership will determine exhibitor status for Premier Breeder and Premier Exhibitor. An individual must be an owner or partial owner to include an animal in these categories. Documentation of such will be provided by the American Aberdeen Angus Association. 14. Any person found guilty of misrepresentation, or not abiding by the show rules, will be disqualified and denied the privilege of showing. 15. Scoring for Premier Exhibitor and Premier Breeder will be as follows. Points are awarded to animals based on the side of the class and the animals ranking within the class. The class winner will receive the same number of points as there are animals shown in the class; second place with receive one less point than first place, etc. For example, in a class of six animals, first place with earn six points, second place earns five points, etc., down to sixth place with earns one pint. In addition, division champions will earn five points and division reserve champions earn two points. Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion do not earn additional points.
