U16 Football: As most of you are aware we were graded A for the U16 league against much stronger opposition. The league campaign kicked off on the 31sr of January and we found it extremely difficult to organise games at this time of year due to adverse weather conditions. We were defeated by Aghada, Rockban, Midleton and Inch Rovers. We were given a walk over by Cloyne and had a win against Bride Rovers a game that will forever be engraved in my mind as it showed how determined and strong our girls can be when they put their minds to it. Football ability was never a question with these girls but they lacked in confidence after suffering some difficult defeats. The league campaign ended in March/April allowing the girls to go off and play at U14, minor and Junior grades for the Summer. As we had not been in the top two of our grade following the league campaign we did not qualify for the County Championship. Thanks to Diarmuid & PJ our girls were well prepared for the battle that was to come and they went out and gave everyone a lesson on how to play football. They recovered from their own mistakes and optimised on the mistakes made by Na Piarsaigh. They played as a team and had some great passages of play throughout the entire game. Although they were in the lead at half time our girls were quick to remember the previous two games where they had let the opposition into the game for the second half and were determined not to let this happen again. They kept driving on and thankfully were worthy winners on the night. The East Cork Championship started early October and with the help and supports of PJ Savage and Diarmuid Cunningham we got in a few excellent training sessions before playing Youghal away on a cold and wet Sunday afternoon. The girls got off to a great start but began to tire in the second half allowing Youghal to pick up a few easy scores. Eventually the Caherlag girls ran out winners and were through to a semi-final against our neighbours Carrigtwohill. This game was played in Carrigtwohill on a cold Sunday 23rd of October. Our girls were focused and determined and put some great scores on the board. Again they tired in the second half and allowed Carrig to enter the game. It was a very close battle but thankfully we came through as winners with a 2-point victory. The final was fixed for Friday 04th of November in Caherlag against Na Piarsaigh. I would like to take this opportunity to thank this incredible bunch of girls for a fantastic year. A huge thank you must also go to Diarmuid Cunningham and PJ Savage for stepping in and helping us to make something of the year. Wishing you all a Happy Christmas and looking forward to seeing you all in 2107 Many thanks Sandra Dooley

Under 12 s Coaches: John Corcoran, Kieran Collins, Seamus MulcahyTeam Assistant: Ena Corry,Student Coaches: James Mulcahy (last few weeks, Gaisce) Team details: The core squad now consists of 19 Girls, this number was much lower at the beginning of the year. 6 Girls are on the age, 12 girls are under 11 and 1 girl under 10.All the girls play football but only 15 will play camogie and out of that 15, 3 girls are completely new to Camogie this year. Our U12 Girls have had an extremely busy and successful year playing a total of 26 games, 15 football games and 11 camogie games and had loads of fun along the way. The squad is made up of 19 girls, some were playing with Erin s Own a while and we had some very welcome new comers this year also. The girls had a very successful year reaching the final stages of both football and camogie.the girls won 3 out of 4 of their camogie league games, all though games, and did enough to get to the quarter final at home against Milford and they didn t stop there. On 26 th July the girls took on Milford at home and gave everyone a great display of Camogie to progress to the league semi-final, which unfortunately had to be played just two days later. On 28 th July the girls played Castlelyons in their league semi-final at the neutral venue of St Finbarr s, but despite showing great skill and determination they were unlucky not to progress to the final. Reaching the semi-final was a huge achievement for the girls and they played a good strong game and were unlucky to loose against Castlelyons. Both teams were well matched. Games; 26 in total; 10 league FB games; 2 Friendly FB games; 3 championship FB games, reached league final. 6 league Camogie games, reached league semifinal. 1 friendly camogie game; 4 U13 league camogie games; Plus two camogie Blitz s. The focus again changed to football with the championship yet to play. The girls took on Mayfield on 16 th Sept in their Championship quarter final and showed great determination to win. They progressed to the semi-final away to Youghal B played on 8 th Oct, the girls played a fantastic game of football and progressed to the Championship final. On 23 rd Oct, the U12 girls played away to Carrigtwohill in the Final. The girls were very excited to reach the final and they played their best on the day but Carrigtwohill got the glory of the win. The teams greatest achievement was their team work and team spirit, in both the football final and camogie semi-final, they battled on to the final whistle and at no stage did they give up. Well done to all the girls!

Congratulations to Niamh Murphy on winning the ladies football All Ireland Minor Title U15: Under 8 s We reached the East Cork B plate final St Catherine s in Caherlag and unfortunately were beaten by a very strong sidewe played two games previous to this against Bride Rovers and St Catherine s and were beaten well on both occasions, however our girls showed great heart and determination throughout both games.
