We had 13 boats with 29 fishermen. We had two ladies that braved the cold and the rain, and it was the two ladies that hooked all the fish for the day. Kati Kirkman was the first one to hook up with a fish at the arm pit hole. It was a female native that weighed about 8 lbs and was then released, because Jeff didn t have a fish box to transport it. Leslie Hinea then hooked up with a nice fish and lost it at the boat, only to find out that the hook came off the plug. She sure put the hammer to that fish only to see it disappear so quickly. We had some real excitement to start the morning off. One of our members unhooked his boat from his trailer only to see it fall off the trailer and sailed straight into the river. Thanks for one of our members who was quick on the draw and was able to retrieve it before it got away. We had a fantastic lunch at camp Angelos with a great fire to warm up too. I want to thank Joli Ritchie and Kathryn Israelson for preparing our lunch. I also want to thank Bill Beith for taking the time to shuttle us for this event. We all had a great time and it was extra special because we will always remember this day because of Ray Hinea. It was his goal to make this event special for everyone who participated in it. I felt that Ray would ve been proud of us as we continued this event and in his honor. Here are a few photos of this year s event. Here is Leslie Hinea fighting her fish at the camp Collins Hole.
