Counseling Corner Kaleidoscope Connection - Page 3 This past week in guidance lessons, second and fourth grade discussed careers. Both classes learned about the six categories that jobs falls into, and which types of jobs fit in each one. Sixth grade students learned about Habit 6 Synergize, which is about learning to celebrate peoples differences, instead of just tolerating them. Seventh grade students discussed uplifting and inspirational quotes, and them created their own and decorated them. Eighth grade learned to not sweat the small stuff. We went over tips on how to deal with little things that are not the end of the world Middle School students are also participating in our Lenten Kindness Challenge: Wrapping the School in Kindness. Each week will be a different theme for students to find kindness, or ways of being kind. This week s theme sacrificing something each day. We are very excited about this endeavor! Festival of Two Rivers The 10 th annual Festival of Two Rivers is coming up! This year, we are teaming up with the church and fair committee for volunteer signups. An online sign up form for both concession and game booths has been set up. This will allow individuals to select the date and shift they are available. We are asking for each family (18 years or older) to sign up for a two-hour shift. Please note this year, we are not having game booth specific to each grade, instead the school is sponsoring the game booths as a whole. Therefore, please select the time and date you are available. In addition, we will have 4 float slots to be assigned once you arrive to the game area. Festival Dates and hours needed: April 27 th (4:45 PM to 11:00 PM) April 28 th (9:45 AM to 10 PM) April 29 th (10:45 AM to 5PM) Please signup no later than April 13 th, 2018. Volunteer forms are located in the church and school offices if you prefer to sign up via paper format rather than via the Sign up genius. Links are below and will be posted on the school web page underneath Home and School. These tickets can be used to play the school sponsored games anytime during the festival. They are not good for any other activities on the fairgrounds.
