Highlands has set the standard for grooming excellence and has a strong reputation for being one of the best groomed courses in Western Canada. It has also been home to a number of Canada s elite golfing alumni, including Betty Stanhope-Cole, who was ranked as Canada s Top Female Golfer in 1974 and 76, and also to Henry Martell, voted Canada s Golfer of the Year in 1939. The Henry Martell Invitational Pro-Am is one of the most coveted invitational tournaments of the year. While the Club hosts a number of golfing tournaments and related events for its membership, it s not always about golf. Notes For Playing Privileges Note 1 Weekday Play Walk On Privilege: Single Silver will have the opportunity to play between and and single Bronze members will have the opportunity to play between and 6, but only at the discretion of the Golf Professional. The members requesting the Walk on Privilege must sign in at the Pro Shop and accept the first available time as provided by the Golf Professional/Starter. The priority for play will be as follows: Priority Procedure 1) Gold, 2) Silver, 3) Bronze When the Professional has confirmed to the player that he/she is joining a group, the open playing position is considered to be filled. This will occur 15 minutes prior to the scheduled tee time. Note 2 Ladies Days: 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Tee Times. All unused tee times to be assigned as requested. Note 3 Ladies Night: 5 to First tee reserved with times booked in advance. First 32 players to advance book. Any unused times may be assigned as requested Note 4 Men's League: Start of Season to Mid May 4 shotgun 1st Tee closes at 12:30 Mid May to mid August 4:30 Shotgun 1st Tee closes at 1 Mid August to end of Men s League season 1st Tee closes at 12:30 Note 5 Weekend/Holiday Play: Ballots will be used for weekend/holiday play. Members indicate preferred starting time, based on outlined playing privileges. Priority for allocating playing times will be based on the following criteria: 11 a.m.: Gold members Only Between 11 a.m. and 1 : Gold members, Silver members and Senior Intermediates. 1 : Gold members, Silver members, Senior Intermediates, Bronze Intermediates and Bronze members.
Note 6 All tee times booked by Phone-in, In person or by ballot must include the number of players and the players names. confirmation of the names of the players in the group, the member booking less than four (4) players will be informed that the Pro Shop will attempt to make a foursome. The Golf Pro can fill playing groups in advance, when original booking is not registered as a foursome. Members eligible to play in the appropriate time period would be able to request to be added to a group of less than four (4) players. (In-person or phone-in) The Golf Pro will attempt to make foursomes as playing demand requires. Note 7 Any member not using a time/playing slot booked in his or her name must notify the Pro Shop in advance of the scheduled time. Disciplinary action may be taken by the Head Professional, the Director of Golf and/or the Club Disciplinarian for members disregarding the club policies in respect to playing privileges and booking/cancellation procedures. Note 8 Starter Times will be available daily from: 11 a.m. to 3 Monday to Friday, excluding Holidays. Starter times may be booked same day In-Person or Phone-In starting Requests for times is taken on a 2 Phone-in to 1 In-person basis Gold members may book at 9:00 a.m.. All other members may book at 9:30 a.m. Note 9 Next Day Booking Rule: 10:00 a.m. on the morning prior to each scheduled booking day (excluding weekend/holiday play), any Silver member may book by Phone-in or In-person, any unclaimed time for the booking day in question. IE) Friday Tee Time: on Thursday at 10 a.m., any Gold or Silver member may book any available time for Friday. Note 10 Club 65/Club 65 Spouse: Play allowed on all days before 3, except weekend/holiday play. Exceptions as designated by the Club Captain for special club events or tournaments. Note 11 Guests of Members: A member in good standing may sign up to three (3) guests for weekday golf. Weekend restrictions are as follows: 10 a.m. 1 guest per foursome Between 10 a.m. and 2 1 guest per member 2 3 guests per member Note: Non members are allowed a maximum of six rounds of golf per season, regardless of which member signs them in.
