OZO Senior A Camogie CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL 2011 SUNDAY 2ND OCTOBER 2011 VENUE: PÁIRC PARNELL TIME: 11.00AM LÚACH 2 BAILE BUADÁIN NAOMH ÉANNA V RÁTH ÉANAIGH REFEREE: DONAL RYAN CIARA LUCEY (BALLYBODEN ST ENDAS) 1 MARTINA BYRNE (RAHENY)
Fáilte ón gcathaoirleach Tá sé i gcónaí mar onóir dom fáilte a chur roimh na foirne, lucht tacaíochta agus a cairde leis an lá speisialta seo. Guím gach ráth ar an dá fhoireann agus táim ag tnúth le cluiche iontach. Today's senior final is a battle between the team of the last decade Ballyboden St Endas who have won 5 of the titles in that period - not to mention a Leinster Club title - against a team playing in their firstfinal, raheny. A special word of congratulations to the St Annes Park outfit who have laboured long for this day and hopefully their progress will inspire other clubs to believe that they too can aspire to days like this. It is a great honour that for the first time during her tenure, the President of the Association Joan O'Flynn is able to join us. Joan is entering the final stages of her presidency to which she has brought great vision, energy and leadership. All in Dublin camogie congratulate her on her achievements and we welcome Dublin native Aileen Lawlor to the position when she assumes office in 2012. The Dublin Camogie Board runs the largest programme of fixtures in the camogie calendar and I would like to pay tribute to the Management Committee, the Minor Board and all the clubs for their co-operation. A special word of appreciation to Vice Chair Brendan Cooper for the huge amount of time that he invests in the promotion of the game in Dublin. Thanks also to Referees Coordinator Aoife Maguire. It has been a wonderful year for the Dublin GAA and the close partnership between our associations is a very important feature of the gaelic games family in Dublin. The Camogie Board was delighted to have the Allianz Hurling Cup at the Féile Finals earlier in the year and we all share in the magnificent All- Ireland football final win of Pat Gilroy, his management team, Bryan Cullen and all the players. My appreciation to Andy Kettle, John Costello, John McNicholas, Patsy Kiernan and the Dublin GAA Board for their ongoing support. A word of thanks also to our sponsors OZO and Paul Beecher who are great supporters of the game. Thanks also to Webtrade of Rathfarnham for their sponsorship of our website www. dublincamogie.ie. To the media we also say thanks especially Niall Scully of the Evening Herald. I welcome referee Donal Ryan of Naomh Pádraig and his officials. Donal is typical of many in the camogie family - refereeing, coaching, Board Delegate - a man of many parts and deserving of the honour of officiating at his first Dublin Senior Championship Final. A special thanks to those who have organised the mini games. Finally many thanks to our loyal supporters and we look forward to an exciting game.
