Richard Sexton Head of Rowing

FROM THE PRESIDENT Did you know? In the modern Olympics, rowing was one of the original sports. The founder of the modern Olympics Baron Pierre de Coubertin was a rower. So we have him to thank for the exposure rowing gets at the Olympics. Not quite Olympics but the SA elite were out in force at the State Championships if you missed any races you can find them on the youtube link via Rowing SA, who are now livestreaming most regattas. Well done to all our competitors over the weekend, Pulteney had some great successes from medals to personal bests. Most importantly in the mind of the committee is the Pulteney hosted regatta on 18 March, we are in need of helpers to hand out Bow numbers, scrutineer as well as the cushy tower roles timing the races and of course trusty Bacchus the BBQ, setup and take down. If you can help out in any way please let Martin or myself know asap and we will allocate you a role no experience necessary and all training provided!!! Look forward to catching up with you at West Lakes this weekend as one of the last in the season and a good guide to how crews are faring leading up to Head of the River. Go Pulteney!
