With vital league points up for grabs it was Valley Rovers who took the points in a well deserved win. Fixtures for the coming week: Premier 1 Hurling Monday 3rd September Midleton V Valley Rovers @ 6.45pm in Midleton FE 15 P2 Hurling League Valley Rovers under 15s played Kiltha Og in a hurling league match last Thursday evening in Castlemartyr. Kiltha Og is always a formidable opponent and over the years the under 15s have been involved in hotly contested matches with them. The opening quarter had all the evidence that this game would be no different to previous encounters and this would be a cracking hurling match. However, Valley Rovers through hard work and sheer determination throughout the field, pulled away fast from a 1-4 each score line in the first quarter to leading Kiltha Og at half time by 3-9 to 1-6. The second half saw the Valleys take complete command of the pitch displaying excellent hurling and seamless team work. Valley Rovers on this occasion were too strong and the final score was Valley Rovers 4-18 to Kiltha Og 3-9. The under 15s will play Blackrock this coming week in another league match where a possibility in the league semi-final is at stake. Well done lads! Team: Dylan Huggard, Daniel Hurley, Adam Murphy, Conor Manning, Ben Humphries, Sean Egan, Conor Cremin, Jonathan Kenneally, Jacob O Driscoll, Jonathan Murphy, Conor Callinan, Philip Bernard, Dean O Connor, Ciarán McCarthy, Conor Egan. Subs used: Cathal Brady, Cillian O Brien, Jonathan O Leary and Jason Kelleher. Scorers: Ciarán McCarthy 3-10 (0-8 from frees), Jonathan Kenneally 1-5 (2 65s), Conor Callinan (0-2) and Jason Kelleher( 0-1). Congratulations to Michael McCarthy winner of 2nd prize of 5,000 in the August Cork Gaa Draw. Fe 16 P2 Hurling Championship Result: Valley Rovers 1:8 St Colmans 2:12 Page 2 of 11

Valley Rovers Family Fun Day The juvenile club held their Family Fun day in the Bleach on Sunday last. Unfortunately the weather was not in their favour, however this didn t deter the younger club members from showing off their hurling & football skills & taking the opportunity to give their coaches a good soaking! Following the walk, the under 7 & 8 boys played in a street league, showing great hurling and football skills, after which they received their individual medals from Senior club player John Cottrell. Soak the coach, long puck & target hitting was also going on throughout the event for all age groups. Results of the long puck were: U6 Mason Slyne, U8 Alesha Cronin, U10 Michael Croke, U12 Donnacha O Connell, U14 Jason Kelleher. Well done to everyone who took part in all events & to all those who contributed through sponsorship & volunteered on the day. Page 3 of 11

Junior A Championship Semi-Final Valleys Ladies reach another County Final (Junior A) Valleys Ladies reached another County Final by beating Naomh Aban by 2-10 to 2-04 yesterday at Nemo Rangers. This was an outstanding victory considering both teams were level at 2-04 each at half time. Having played with the wind and rain in the first half Valleys position looked challenging however to keep the opposition scoreless in the second half demonstrates the resolve and determination in this group of women. This report will not give a score by score report on who did what on the pitch as that would not do justice to the collective endeavor and collegiate mentality of all 27 women who togged out. They have trained and performed like true professionals all season and to reach another adult Ladies County final in 2018 is just reward for this. They will be playing Glanmire in the final provisionally fixed for September 23rd. Glanmire are unbeaten all season and the Valleys are well aware of the type of performance that is required. U11 SE Semi final Valleys played near neighbours Ballinhassig in the semi-final of the South East league in Brinny on the 29 th August last. After a fairly evenly matched first half, valleys brought the game to life matching the opposition score for score until pulling away in the end & coming away with a victory on a final scoreline of Valley Rovers 4 2 to Ballinhassig 4 0. A super team performance in a thrilling contest, with the standard of camogie from both sides excellent & the distribution of quality throughout the panel great to see. Valleys will now play Carrigaline in the final on a date to be confirmed. The Valleys LGFA will be asking all members of all Clubs to come out and support us in great numbers on Sunday 23rd. U8 Blitz Valley Rovers Camogie hosted a monster under 8 camogie blitz on Saturday last in Brinny with over 160 girls playing in a very well organised and fun event. Seven clubs (Carrigtwohill, Courceys, Ballinscarthy, Kilbrittian, Kinsale, Sliabh Rua, Enniskeane) were in attendance along with our own teams (Valleys had 3 teams with a total of 33 girls playing), bringing a total of 16 teams partaking & 24 games played. The skills were fantastic to see and it was great to see so many committed girls. The club and parents also fed all the kids and parents afterwards in a great valleys camogie community effort. Well done to the coaches, parents, referees & players in what was a lovely morning for the club. Photos from the event will be posted to the photo gallery on the website shortly, some of which can be seen below: Page 9 of 11
