Critical points 1. Do you have your blue competition book? 2. Is your medical current and written in your blue book? 3. Have you registered with your Boxing Australia Member State? 4. Have you registered online with the Australian Masters Games as a competitor? ALL 4 must be answered yes to permit you to compete at the games. Failure to arrive with any of the above not in order will likely disqualify you from competing. Critical times Your attendance is required at the Pre-event meeting on Saturday October 3 rd at 5.30 pm (sharp) This meeting is held in the Buffet Room at the Adelaide Casino, North Terrace. PLEASE do not be late. This is a one hour meeting only. We will have test scales available for you to do a quick test weight which will assist us to loosely set divisions thereby speeding up the draw process on the Sunday. At this meeting we will allocate coaches to those requiring one, go over last minute questions, explain the draw, the process, rules, session times etc etc. It is very important that you are in attendance as it will make you aware of where you need to be and when. More critical times The next critical time for ALL boxers is Sunday October 4 th at the Adelaide Convention Centre for the official weigh in Weigh in s will open at 7.30 am and will close at 10 am SHARP. DO NOT BE LATE. Following the weigh in the official draw will take place. For those familiar with boxing you will know this process can take some time so your co-operation will be appreciated. Please remember it is your own responsibility to know when you will be boxing. I will endeavour to use facebook as much as possible to upload daily draws and there is also going to
be an AMG official app closer to the tournament. The facebook page is called.. Masters Boxing Community Please do NOT rely on calling me and certainly do not rely on me calling you to advise you when you are boxing. With close to 200 competitors it will not happen. If you leave me a note with your name and number on it and ask me to call you when the draw is out, the numbers this year are simply too high to do this and I am sorry but it is not feasible. You will need to be either present at the draw and then make an effort to return to the venue if you leave to check the draw that will be displayed at all times in a visible location close to the ring. Opening Ceremony The 15 th Australian Masters Games Opening Ceremony and Athlete march is being held on Saturday October 3 rd at 7pm at the Games Village. The Games Village is at the Adelaide Convention Centre, North Terrace, Adelaide. A one minute walk from the pre event meeting place. You are all invited to take part in the athlete march and enjoy the 80 s Unlimited live band at the opening ceremony that evening. All competitors and registered people have accreditation allowing them entry into all Games social events. If you have friends and family travelling with you, they can visit the accreditation centre and register on the spot if they wish to access the games events and village. STING official sponsor and discount code Sting are the official sponsors of the tournament and have kindly provided a generous discount code for Masters Boxers attached to this circular. Sting will have a merchandise stand on site at the boxing with essentials for you. Most asked question in the history of the world If you have no one else in your division after the official weigh in on the Sunday.. If this happens you will be awarded the win in your division and then special bouts can be arranged for you within the scope of the rules. For example you can box someone within 5 years of you with similar experience and weight. This gives us scope to match you with someone in an age division above or below you providing the age gap is no greater than 5 years. This opens up many options for most boxers and give you opportunities to box on multiple days.
