Showin Your Spirit Week Spirit Week 2018 Theme of the Week: Christ in You (Gal. 2:20) Patriot Spirit Week: January 8-13, 2018 Spirit Week Dress Code Guidelines **Note the following: Throughout the week, NO shorts, leggings, or tights will be permitted. Jeans, wind pants and sweatpants must fit appropriately and follow dress code. Overall, when choosing an outfit each day, the dress code policies of modesty and appropriate fit must be of primary concern. Be creative within those parameters. Face paint or temporary hair color are only allowed on Monday, Thursday, or Friday. If you choose not to participate, you must wear regular school uniform. No chapel dress is required on Thursday. Ball caps/hats appropriate to the theme of the day are fine. Most importantly HAVE FUN!! Monday 1/8/2018: Pajama and/or Favorite Sports Team Day a. Pajama - Students may wear pajamas. They must be modest and not be too tight or too loose. Oversized t-shirts/night shirts with pants may be worn. Nightgowns may not be worn. Pajama shorts may not be worn. Shoes should be worn to school. Slippers are fine to bring to wear in class, but shoes should be worn outside for recess or P.E. b. Favorite Sports Team Day - Students should wear a jersey, t-shirt, hat, bandana, hoodie, etc from your favorite sports team or dress up like their mascot. Example: Oriole Bird, etc. Tuesday 1/9/2018: Career Day/International Day/Tourist Day a. Career Day Did you ever want to be a soldier, police officer, nurse, firefighter, etc.? Dress up like you would for your favorite career. b. International Day Dress in what you would wear in a foreign country or wear colors of a country. What would you wear if you lived in China, etc.? c. Tourist Day Where would like to visit? Dress like you would if you were a tourist there. For example, imagine you are going to Hawaii!

Wednesday 1/10/2018: Squad Day/Twin Day or Hill Billy/Western Day a. Squad Day This is a spin-off of Twin Day. The goal is to have students talk together and come up with a fun squad theme and have it pre-approved by the homeroom teacher. Examples would be: Crayon Box-someone be each color, Star Wars-someone be each character, 3 Stooges, etc. b. Twin Day Get a partner and dress exactly alike. c. Hill Billy Day Wear jeans, flannel, and a straw hat. Dress like a Hill Billy. d. Western Day Bring out those cowboy boots and cowboy hat. Dress like a cowboy or Indian. Thursday 1/11/2018: Circle of Life Day, Holiday Day, or Stoplight Day a. Circle of Life Day Students can dress up to represent their favorite stage of life from the cradle to the grave. (baby, child, teen, young adult, middle age, elderly, ancient, etc.) See the note under the Spirit Week guidelines. b. Holiday Day Students can dress up in what they would wear for their favorite holiday. They could dress like a Christmas Tree or present, etc. c. Stoplight Day If you are the oldest sibling, then wear red, middle children wear yellow, and if you are the youngest, wear green. Friday 1/12/2018: Patriot Pride Day Students should show as much Patriot pride as possible. Jeans, wind pants, and sweatpants are acceptable. Students should wear red, white, and blue. Socks and shoes must be worn. Face paint, hair ribbons, and hair paint are acceptable. Students can dress up like a Patriot. Let s have some fun and show that Patriot Pride! Have you considered making your own costume and coming like the patriot mascot? Could you dress like a famous Patriot? Toy guns should not be brought to school. Show your school spirit! Dress Up Winners - Winners for most creative in each category will be chosen each day, and points will be awarded to each homeroom toward earning the CCS Spirit Stick. - The class will also earn points based on the percentage of class participation.

1. Wall Decoration Contest: As always, each class will be responsible for decorating a designated wall of the gym. Tape is not to be used on the walls; all posters need to be hung with sticky tack. Thursday, January 11 by 1:00 p.m. is the deadline for these decorations. Just a reminder that everything that is put up should be supporting CCS and not opposing Red Lion. Keep it positive and appropriate. 2. Door Decoration Contest: Each class will decorate their door. Try to incorporate the themes (for the week/days). Doors should be decorated by noon on Friday, January 12. Please do not cover the window in the doors. **Note: The walls and doors will be judged on 1. CCS School Spirit 2. Creativity 3. Quality * The CCS School Spirit Stick will go to the class who has the highest score for the week based on their daily dress up participation, wall and door decorations, and class competitions. The class who wins the CCS Spirit Stick will have a dress down day on Wednesday, January 17. Let s have some fun and show that school spirit!!

Car Decoration Contest: Decorate your car on Friday, January 12 and show it off at pick-up time (3:05). We will be looking for cars that are showing CCS Patriot Pride! We will be taking pictures and posting the ones with the most school spirit in the newsletter! How many classes can get 100% attendance at our Homecoming Games? Come out and support your class and your school by cheering on your basketball teams. See daily schedules on the following pages
